I prepped it fine. It stays on as long as nobody rubs it off. Which, by the way, a microfiber cloth can do all by itself if you rub too hard. That's how I remove the old stuff, or overspray when I paint with it.
that only works/happen for the 1st week or 2 tho...once it's cured it becomes harder and slicker like plastic and your microfiber won't be able to rub it off very well...it won't have much friction anymore.

Today I got a lot of small things done!

I installed smoked LED side markers, JDM Red Emblems (front and rear), 2020+ fog light garnish trims and Lasfit switchback LEDs in the fogs.

The markers aren't wired to flash amber yet because I'm unsure of my headlight plans.

The switchbacks are white or yellow and you control by flipping them on and off.

Also, my hatch is White Orchid Pearl and that color isn't offered on the 2020s. I ordered the Garnish in Platinum White Pearl and thankfully it is a near indistinguishable match (prob since the painted part is small and floating in black trim)

Loving the car so far!

Curbed my rear passenger side wheel today. I'm an idiot. I was pulling out of a Burger King drivethrough and was paying more attention making sure everything was in the bag.

I guess at least it wasn't a $500 aftermarket wheel. I'm still pissed at myself.

And damn. My car is filthy.

From the looks of it you only hit the machined areas of the wheel. I bet it can be repaired, polished and cleared. Is that bird crap on the lower spoke? If so, get it off so it doesn't etch the wheel.

It's hard to tell from that pic, but it's fairly deep in some areas. I don't know how easy it would be to fix, or if it would be worth it. But I don't know how much something like that usually costs.

And yes, that's bird poop. My car looks like a hot mess. I've been doing so many extra shifts for the past couple months (involuntarily) and haven't had time for anything, and my car has gotten disgusting. I'll pull out the pressure washer today or tomorrow and at least give it a good spray down.

There are wheel repair specialists that can get that wheel looking good again. Probably in the $100+ range as a guesstimate.

If I do fix it, I may look into those wheel protector things I saw someone post here recently. You could barely tell they were there, but they stuck out enough to make contact with a curb before the wheel did.

Back in the olden days, cars used to use these curb feelers. Yikes!
