What did you do to your Civic today? (II)

I get a lot of people asking me how tuning effects economy. I always tell them "it's about your right foot". Sometimes a pic does a better job of explaining things and today was the perfect day to take one.

The trip on the bottom was me going to work in light traffic and taking it easy on the throttle. The number on top was the same route with a bit more traffic and me having 2-3 aggressive stabs on the throttle...

Even that 32.6 mpg number is fairly impressive considering how fast I was driving on my commute home. Tuned on TSP Stage 1, I've been averaging 41.3 mpg on this tankful so far.

Spring compressors, SPC Performance Camber kit arrived, still no springs. Swift Spec R Springs on back order hopefully will be here at months end. Also, my lip from ABS Dynamics is enjoying a 2.5 week vacation sitting at LA Airport waiting to come to Canada. I’ve always hated USPS, and I’m finding a few more reasons to hate them even more now.

I got curious about that 40 lbs muffler claim because they felt really light for something that is supposed to be 40 lbs each.

Turns out each muffler is ~14.1 lbs. 2 x 14 = 28, not 40 lol. Still, any weight savings is a positive in my book.

I hate to say this but it looks like my civic days are coming to an end. My wife tried crossing a parking lot aisle but didn’t see a car coming as she crossed. I hope insurance will total it since the drivers airbag went off. Bruce barely made it past 3 years ? I’m gonna really miss that car

That sucks. I hope your wife is OK! That's what is most important. Cars can always be replaced!

The only reason I let her drive it is because this was her old car that left us sitting lol

I’m glad the car kept her safe but I doubt I’ll ever own another car I loved as much as that one!
