Literally exactly what I did. Didn’t do enough research and didn’t realize the car I really wanted/should have gotten was the Si. I was looking at an Si at multiple dealers thinking it was going to be my future car, but thought that I might as well save some money and just go with the sport sedan. Being that it was my first time purchasing a vehicle and having a car, I was just too excited and caught up in the process that all I cared about was ending up with a car, no matter the trim. Anytime I see an Si on the street I’m immediately envious of the driver lol. Anyways, congrats on the new hatchback and getting what you wanted in the first place. Hope I can do the same soon! LolI was actually going to pay it off this week... from a financial POV, I wouldn’t recommend it... I didn’t necessarily get TOO screwed, but I shouldn’t have done it. When I bought the sport last year, I had my mind set on a used civic, and ended up with the brand new sport . Being hardheaded, and lack of research, I ended up not getting what I really wanted, and it’s kind of bothered me ever since I got the sport. Don’t get me wrong, the sport is a great/great looking civic, I just wanted some of the other extras that I didn’t get with it... so I made it happen now, and am paying for it.
end of the day, I got the car I wanted, in the color I wanted, and am even happier than I was with my sport. My suggestion is to go into the dealer with no expectations, and see what they can do for you... don’t let emotions take over, and be firm in negotiations.
