3 rock chips (one fixed, one not), last rock chip this morning instantly caused the big crack you see above...all thrown at me by a cars (I stay away from trucks)

Are there any aftermarket windshields I can buy that are stronger, or do I need to keep buying windshields every 2,700 miles?

They are weak. Mine only made it 1,200 miles. Kind of paranoid driving around now even after adding OEM glass insurance coverage. Previous Civic: one replacement windshield in 200,000+ miles. Subaru: none in 95,000 miles (does need replacement due to haze from sand used on roads in winter). Pontiac: one in 65,000 miles.

I would add non-deductible glass coverage to your insurance. It raised mine something like $30/6 months. Then you dont have to worry about it. Also, I remember when my mom got her brand new Subaru, got a nice bullseye on the way home. Car had less than 20miles on it. Gotta love the AZ highways.
