Waze has been promising Android Auto capability for over 3 years now, don't hold your breath. However, I do know they did FINALLY start the beta test for it yesterday.

We're you able to get an invite to test it?

No beta testing has started yet. I am one of them. The last mention in email was may 30th which said coming soon.

It works for me, but have to restart the app on the head unit everytime the lane-watch camera gets turned on. From their initial email, they new about this bug prior to releasing the beta as they say "In some cases of car camera turning on (reverse, etc..) Waze closes and needs to be reopened again."

Ended up working great on my Pioneer 4200NEX. Don't have lane watch, but didn't have any problems with the backup camera closing waze. Waze did close if I exited out of AA back to the pioneer menus. Glad to have it finally!

The apk is up on apkmirror

I haven't tried, but it's reported to be working even without beta access. I will try it on the way home in a couple of hours.
You sir are my hero, it has worked on my AA on my phone so far. But I can't switch between Google maps and waze, need to go to main menu and select it from 'apps for android auto'

Wow, the LaneWatch interruption just kills it.

It's a start though, after years and years of promises and "coming soon!"

Is there a way to turn off lane watch though?
Assuming the menus for the Canadian LX are the same as the US EX, should be.

  1. Select “Settings” from the home screen
  2. Tap “Camera”
  3. Select “LaneWatch”
  4. Toggle the “Show Turn Signal” option to Off
  5. Tap BACK to return to the main menu
