Want to install a roof rack on my Si

Maybe I can get a roof rack at the dealership but figure it will be $$$, has anyone installed a roof rack on their Civic X? I have a 2018 Si and am looking to haul some surfboards when I go to the beach...any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I got a custom install quote on a Yakima roof rack. Local shop that has been around for many years in San Jose. They have to drill into the roof but assure me it will not leak. I don't plan on taking it off so I'm not really tripping about drilling. I think it was about $950 for the base, rails and install. Snowboard and bike attachments will be extra. Will take some pics after I get it, probably later next month.

Yakima. Fits great. Not too much wind noise and little effect on MPG rating...unless i hook up my yakima bike rails when i take my bikes out.

Do you ever remove your rack when not in use? Does it make dents in the thin sheet metal? I really want a rack for my bike and my kayak, but dont want to damage the roof.

I've put on a Rhino Racks Aero rack with a Thule Bike mount. Works pretty well and with the sunroof shield closed it's barely louder than stock. I've not removed it since I've installed it, but when I do, I'll probably be putting some paint protection film at the contact points. I've not had a roof rack before and if the Si could take a hitch, I'd have done that. Hitch mount bike racks are the best scenario to transport bikes. I had a hitch on my 8th Gen Si with a hitch bike rack and it worked great.

Nope I always keep it on, and makes no dents on the roof. Where it sits, the frame is sturdy.
