I'm still trying to decide if we should still go considering I already got my vacation days from work approved and I doubt I'd be able to get a refund from the resort this close in. A credit towards the future is no good.

It would still be a nice weekend getaway for the gf and I. There would be much less traffic at least, I was just looking forward to checking out other people's Type R builds

I'm contemplating the same. There's a bunch of ppl on the FB group that say they're still going.

So was I. I’m 500 miles out. I’m a military guy and there here was a directive that our leave radius was set to 400 miles this morning from big navy. That just got cut down to 100 miles only by Group this afternoon. If they keep cutting, I might not be allowed to drive the 10 miles to get onto base (fingers crossed)

Im retired AF (still involved) and if you use the DoD mileage to Fontana resort you’re at 460 miles.

One nautical (Navy) mile is 1.15 statute miles.

1.15 x 400 = 460 miles, no Captain’s Mast for you if you explain you legally pre-planned this trip under correct Navy standards at that time. No similar AF restrictions but we’re not going TDY anywhere. They probably did that to reduce migratory chances of Corona Virus that no one in your uniform will ever abbreviate as CV, LOL. I might be able to arrange drive on airlift if you’re O-6 or above (kidding)?

Doing more math on possibilities plus gut feeling, how are things at NAS Pensacola? I’m in Destin.

Its for all DoD military, civilians and their families. The local submarine group reduced it to 100. Even nautical miles won’t help me there, friend. If you’re DoD civilian, it actually ought to still apply to you. I have a TAD school in Rhode Island that was happening throughout all of May getting affected by it. I picked that timeframe so my grad day was the same day the kids get out of school for summer break. Now? If it reopens in the summer, I’ll miss 1/2 or more of my kids summer vacation.

Donate please. I won’t make the new date. Kids will be back in school (maybe... ...Lord Corona show us mercy) and I’ll be unavailable due to work commitments. It was me plus 4 guests.
