Fortunately those jackasses didn't hit anyone (Or fly off a cliff). This is why I don't go on scenic drives at night

Yes, those "scenic" 100mph backcountry drives.

I also refuse to drive any back roads or isolated highways at night unless I absolutely have to for travel reasons.

I ain't trying to hit a deer or elk or run off the road due to poor visibility.

Absolutely not. I never illegally pass, tailgate, or overdrive my visibility.

My night vision has gotten a bit worse as I've aged so even driving safe, normal speeds on some of our isolated, pitch-black back highways here feels dangerous. I just avoid driving outside the city/lit areas at night unless I absolutely have to.

Not really sure how a pitch-black night drive is scenic.
