Vertical Play with Shifter

Hey all, installed the CTR assembly along with the Acuity stage 1 goodies into the car a month ago and I noticed after a week the shifter has vertical play and feels wobbly in both neutral and in gear (vertical movement only). There is also the rare occurrence where shifting into 4th gear will hit some wall halfway and not go fully into gear and I'll have to pull it back into neutral and shift into 4th again. I didn't run into any major problems during the install aside from me breaking the shifter cable retention clips on both the change wires like an idiot. They both sat in the shifter fine though with some added zip ties for extra security. Not sure what the vertical play or wobbly feeling could be but I took an educated guess that the cables stretched but I'd like another opinion if possible. I've already taken apart the assembly and reinstalled everything but I haven't been able to figure out what is causing it. Thanks in advance.
