Hey Prodigy,
Ive got a set of real Varis trims installed! Basically, any 3M double sided tape will work to a degree. Do NOT buy the tape from a hardware store like Home Depot or Lowes because that tape is only regulated at a max of 60 pounds. Find some actual automotive 3M tape from O'reiilys or your local Auto Paint Store.
Im not sure what the back side of the Ebay flares look like, but on the real Varis parts there is an indented "line" area that the molding tape actually sits into. This allows the flare to sit more flush to the door without leaving an ugly gap. Let me know if you have any more questions!
