Hello,

I have a Civic hatchback 2017 with the 4 speakers / 4 tweeters.

I'm currently in the process of adding a subwoofer for some extra thump.

I'm looking into upgrading the front door tweeters as I do find them harsh.
Any recommendations ? Looking for smoother sounding ones that won't overpower the door speakers.

Thanks!

Got the same 8 speaker setup.
I put some Hertz DT 24.3, into my car but the sound of the OEM speakers are so bad that I ended up getting 2 sets of Hertz DSK 170.3, not to expensive, but the sound is so much better, now I'm enjoying to hear music in my car. Got a DBA 200.3 sub, and it's all running stock unit.

Look into this tread for some more advice.

I was wondering how well the DSK 170.3 woofers fit in the doors.
Thanks in advance for your answer.

They fit great, I removed the OEM tweeters, and kept the plastic fitting, then I chose to use a glue gun, so if I want to I can refit the oem speakers.
You need to use some kind of glue to fit the tweeters.

when you installed these did you run an amp with them or just plug them in to the existing wiring?

I just used the existing wiring, for the time being I'm pleased with the sound upgrade, coz I don't hear the music so loud, but if you want high sound pressure, then you need an amp.

I did Alpine type r. The tweeters didn't require glue they just popped right in.
