Hi All,
Bringing the meat and potatoes from my personal build thread over here for easy referencing
Engine:
That should cover all engine modifications. My build and personal philosophy isn't about chasing high horsepower, it just so happens that over time the car became FBO as I test a lot of parts

Engine:
- Hondata +9
- Simple bolt-on power, has run well for over 50k kms in 3 years. Stock clutch until 10/17/2020. Not for sale via Unity Performance yet.
- Mishimoto Intake
- Drop-in solution, performance is decent - total run time is 50k kms over 3 years. Runs a few degrees warmer than 27won and PRL during comparison testing, but not a deal breaker as fuel trims and quality otherwise is good. Not available yet on the site, but can help you source this Intake Kit. Please PM.
- Mishimoto Intercooler Kit w/Piping
- Fantastic build quality of all pieces in the kit, excellent fitment, and haven't had any heat soak since install in May 2019. One does have to trim the factory trim pieces that covers the stock intercooler, and Mishimoto includes their own to substitute with. Not available yet on the site, but can help you source this Intercooler Kit. Please PM.
- Mishimoto Catch Can
- After 3 years / 50k kms of running a catch can, I don't deem it as a necessary part for this engine if you are just puttering about doing Street Driving only. If you are doing track days, and/or driving hard on hot days then that's when the catch can will collect some amount of blowby on the 1.5T platform
- Whiteline Engine Mount (RMM)
- You will not have heard of this one since I am testing this on my car for Whiteline, prior to the release. Whiteline's Billet RMM uses twin 82a Polyurethane Bushings. A separate thread will be created with more pictures and impressions. This part will be available on Unity Performance's website
- 27won Catted Downpipe
- Big fan of this, fitment was superb and the Catted DP contributes to some solid gains. Personally I will always go for and recommend Catted since modern high-flow cats don't rob any power, and benefit from not emitting a terrible smell and less emissions. The L15B motor also gets very raspy with a Catless setup FYI. Only picture I took unfortunately, not available for sale yet via Unity Performance
- AWE Front Pipe
- Included in the purchase of every AWE Catback since their exhaust can only mate up with their own Front Pipe. Typically a $3-400 part, included in the cost of purchase of any AWE Exhaust System. Note: re-use metal gasket factory front pipe. Pictured below: stock FP, 27won polished FP, and AWE FP. Available for purchase via Unity Performance: https://unity-performance.com/collections/2017-civic-si/products/awe-tuning-exhaust-2017-civic-si
- AWE Touring Catback w/ Triple Black Tips
- LOVE this exhaust! It can be docile for daily driving, and then suddenly a complete wildcat as your foot goes deeper into the gas pedal! Catted DP + Touring (has rear muffler) Exhaust is the loudest setup I personally recommend. In fact, a stock DP + Track (no rear muffler) is quieter simply if you keep the factory downpipe in place. The triple tips also fill the Si's diffuser section very well.
