I am not a huge fan of the top spoiler on the Civic Hatchback, so I was wondering if the OEM TypeR vortex generators will just be plug and play. I have seen some people install them onto their hatch but I think they came with the TypeR spoiler clone. Anyone have any experience or knowledge if the OEM vortex generators will fit on the Civic hatchback?

It might fit but by looking at the picture below, the OEM vortex generators are being mounted on the roof so I don't think it would be a good idea to make holes on the roof.

the tabs that come w/ showcase replica spoiler are held on with tape. the side fins should swap right out if you buy oem parts. they are about 90 bucks shipped from online oem sites.

oh wow. What color are you thinking of getting? Are you going to repaint them to Sonic Grey?
I was either going to get black and just paint my roof to match, or repaint the parts to sonic grey. Not sure yet. Still debating if its worth it.

I think repainting the parts will save money and I do not think the black roof will look good on our car color.

I might just buy the parts and wrap the roof and the parts myself instead. Not sure yet. Will def make a post when I do it.
Did you ever do it? I have a silver hatch myself and im deciding if its worth it... I need pics to push me to do it

I just finished installing the OEM type R Vortex generators and side extensions on my Hatchback Sport. I got the spacing dimensions of the mounting holes from the Type R forums and engineered a sheet metal template that was laser cut at my work.
After drilling the first hole I knew there was no turning back, but it turned out great! Up next, type R wing from ABS Dynamics!
