In person, it looks like fake carbon fiber. A nice fake carbon, but fake nonetheless.

As for the CTR wheel, it was a great upgrade at the 40 bucks the part used to cost.
Oh yeah, no one's claiming it's real. If any vendor is, that's false advertising.

At $40, the CTR wheel was a steal. Now it's around $200 I think, so you really have to ask yourself that why pay more than quadruple the price for something that isn't much different than OEM, and it's out in the open how much it's actually worth. Anyone who purchased the HandKraftd / Buddy Club branded wheel thought the same question, and make their decision accordingly :)

In regards to real carbon fiber, this wheel can be done in CF, but it hasn't been so far due to cost - rough estimate is double. Most Civic owners aren't willing to pay that amount
exactly what im thinking.

I’m happy with the type r, if the buddy club wasn’t $200 more probably would have gone that route.

Here is the full leather buddy club wheel, I prefer it over the type R wheel however the type R wheel is priced much more reasonably. I've only ever been in a Type R once but IIRC the Buddy club compared to the Type R has a more aggressive flat bottom and deeper grooves at 9 and 3.

That Si logo looks crooked on the lower part of the wheel...is it?

So just a heads up for anyone with paddle shifters installing this yourself...any video you'll find online will be an install without paddle shifters. ((Trust me I checked))

When you get to the part of removing the controls you won't be able to pry them out from behind like they recommend because of the paddle shifter housing. Instead you'll have to very carefully lift and pry around the left and right button controls until they lift out. There are three prongs holding them in on the top bottom and side. It helped me to remove the grey trim first them remove the left and right button controls one at a time. Once you get that done there's one screw and two small plugs to remove the paddle shifters.

Hope this helps someone because I was stuck for a good amount of time trying to figure out the safest way to do this. Such a pain but so worth it. This wheel is gorgeous!

would look clean on your car.

install was not difficult at all. there are few good youtube video how-tos. probably took like 30 minutes or so.
