Type R spare tire

We have an Si coupe, it came with a donut spare kit from factory. I imported a FK8 from the US and had to purchase a kit after.

That's interesting. I just assumed all Si came without spare. Is your trunk floor raised a little with spare in or is it flush?

I live abroad and Honda had to put a spare tire kit to comply with local laws. The kit for the coupe is this one: https://www.hondapartsnow.com/parts...i-ka_6mt/accessories/temporary_wheel_kit.html

Here's a picture from our Si coupe. These foam spacers raise the floor around ~3cm (1 in). The fk8 kit is a lot thicker.

The fk8 kit doesn't have these large side spacers. Instead there are a few small ones glued to the cardboard, which bends a lot under load. I also carry around a kit of OEM lug nuts in case I need to use my spare tire.

Also, Honda could have spent a few more dollars on the lid cheap ass cardboard could be a little thicker at least.

It would hold better if I didn't plop a full size tire on top of it. Otherwise yea that looks pretty nice and clean. Should have been standard option.

Yes, The spare,donut or not, should be an option on all Hondas. At least that is my opinion! It would solve so many possible problems!

Is it the TYPE R donut kit though? just curious will it fit the type R clear the rotor/caliper

Why do you suppose 90% of all flats are on the rear wheels? Non-drive more vulnerable?

Nails and such that are lying flat on the road get kicked up by the front tires and the rear hits them when they're no longer lying flat.
