I was always against the posers and the idiots that put Type R badges all crooked on their non dropped all stock beater shit box looking civic or whatever they rice the hell up. I don't have respect for the badges and the body kits. What I have respect is those that make their lower end civics handle and go some what fast as a Type R.
Let's talk about the EK...it is money to get a real Type R, but you slowly get parts and make it the same as a Type R because parts are available.
There will always be posers in the civic world and we thank them for giving the bad name to Honda for the many years of rice they have provided us.
If your civic is an EX don't badge an Si on i because you don't have larger brakes o. r LSD from factory. I won't badge my Si a Type R because I don't have a 2.0 turbo and rev match and other things.
Now that I have stated my opinion let's get back to topic. I wanna see the wack people that have Type R'ed their non Type R civics.
+10000

I totaly get you and I know what your saying. I almost didn't get my type R just cause I have to deal with the reputation garbage from the fake "I beat a FERRARI" Posts and you name it ive seen it. Ive been an automotive tech for over 20 years. Ive owned everything from a 700 hp camaro to my type r and an s3. Im not going to get my list of cars. The type R is special. I would have never traded in my 600whp 2013 camaro zl1 with a custom 2 tone paint and over 10k in performance parts alone otherwise. None of which mods pertained to suspension except for solid subframe mounts. Lowering your car does NOT auto matically make it faster in a corner. A good set of tires can do more for a car than 99.5 percent of people can imagine.
Bottom line like was said here. DONT BE FAKE!! Im so tired of hearing crap just because some non knowledgeable honda owner tried to tell a custom car builder how to do his job. If you don't know don't talk. Your not boosting your ego your making us look stupid!

Thank you for saying this. I had what i referred to as a fake evo before my civic, but i didn't add it, i bought the car used with 5k miles and removing it wasn't feasible without buying a new trunk lid. That said i NEVER added anything else from an evo because it was NOT an evo. I happily have an EX civic, and I will add stuff to it, but I will NOT add a Red H badge, or type R badging to it. It's just stupid when people do that. Go head and mod the ever living shit out of your civic, add wings, change the lights, etc etc., but badging should not be changed. its just tacky, reflects poorly on the owners of all vehicles of that model, and worst of all makes you look like a giant douche tool. Si with Red H IMO is acceptable, but any model lower shouldn't do it, its just stupid.

This is very rampant here (Philippines). And when you call out on them, they will attack you personally. The sad part is, most, if not all of them have zero performance related mod.

Things to note (to add to the fun):
1. The only hatch we have here is the real Type R
2. RS = 1.5 Turbo CVT
3. i-VTEC = 1.8 NA CVT

Let's see who has the best TypeR clone... ;) All civics welcome.

Edit: hahahaaa. Mine is just a passing.. "Hey that's a, noooooo". But I did have a guy walk around my car taking pictures while I was pumping gas once. So funny. I was like goofball. I want to see a Hatch Sport with wing and TypeR emblems. A solid you gotta know your sheet or your fooled.

Before I continue, I want to be clear, I don't mean to insult the owner of this Civic with this post.
If you guys go on Car Gurus right now, there is a guy selling this beauty of a clone...

I just don't understand why you would go so far to make your car look like a CTR, just make your base model look as clean as you can without pretending to be a different trim. With how much you spend on the add ons might as well get the real thing :dunno:

Here's the link to the post on Car Gurus http://tinyurl.com/y2rrcdfh

Also, would you buy his car?
The seller is clearly stating that this is a hatchback sport. He is not claiming it to be a type R anywhere and yet youre still putting him on blast. Also, that bumper+spoiler+emblems+hatchback sport is still less than a Type R and thats not accounting ADM.

Doesn't bother me at all. No Type R badges that i can see. No hood scoop. Two outlet exhaust. Non-R wheels. The guy likes the look. Not everyone is at a point in their life where they can afford the real deal. Some of these cloners will be future buyers of used Type Rs.

COOL, so it's OK if I have a FAKE "R" as well then :)

Now I feel "Part of the IN Crowd" !!!

I actually saw my 1st FAKE R today !! It was a black EX that must have had 5% Tint all over... (could not even see into the front Windscreen) everything was BLACK, wheels, NO Chrome at all, the only COLOR item was the Red "R" !!!
Stopped beside me at the Light ..
At least he did not Rev Up with a Race Challenge !!!

Knock yourself out. Did you miss the part where he DIDN'T put R badges on his car? Just don't modify your vehicles in any way or someone might get the vapors.
