If you don’t want to rock the car, shift into any other gear then back to first while holding the clutch pedal down).

This actually hasn't worked for me the last couple of times it happened. I actually had to roll the car a little to get it fully engaged.

Darn, that normally does the trick for me. If trying to get into 1st fails I go into reverse, if going into reverse fails I go into 1st.

I’ve got a healthy 3800 miles on my 2020 that will turn 2 next month and I’ve probably experience the lock-out maybe 5 times already (all within the last 3 months or so). I think I heard a light grind when I did a shift during my drive to see the sunset last night at the beach while in traffic which I hope it didn’t do any damage.

It’s quite annoying when it happens so that I do is work it in a few times while at the stop light before actually going into 1st. I did remember using the comfort mode but can’t remember if I had it selected at the time. Maybe I did.

My favorite gear transitioning it going from 2nd-3rd. I wonder what’s everyone’s favorite transition?

I hit 9k miles and still haven’t experienced any lock outs. July 2019 build date.

Hard to believe it’s 3 years old now.
