I used premium gas and 40psi on the tires. I get about 46mpg combined.

So I am pretty disappointed so far. I'm just over 1,000 miles in with a 2.0L engine, mostly driving with Eco on and I've averaged just under 31 MPG by my calculation, slightly above that according to the computer. My first 600 or so miles was mostly city driving, with mild traffic but regularly going up and down a 5-story parking garage which I am sure is not good for fuel economy. But I recently drove over 200 miles in one trip on a highway with little traffic, around 80 MPH the whole way, and I didn't go over 38 mpg by the trip computer - the whole trip was 361.1 miles for 10.881 gallons on paper, although the computer rated it 34 MPG. It isn't awful fuel economy and probably is depressed by the summer heat of Florida, but I was hoping for better - my previous car averaged just around it's rated 27 MPG, ranging from 23.5 MPG (above it's city rating) to 30 MPG (it's highway rating) over the course of complete year.

I haven't looked up to see how big the Coupe tank is, but I usually fill up at about 1/4 tank or so. On a recent return trip from Branson MO, I averaged almost 45 mpg driving through the Ozarks, multiple small towns, a few stops, using some A/C, using econ, with an average speed of 55 mph or so. Best I have gotten in any car ever. I'm happy.

Pic taken close to my home on the bypass.

minus the small towns and stops, and flatten out them Ozarks, and you'd be getting 50+ mpg

It is odd, but, most of my driving is city, even so was expecting at least 30ish. Called my dealer, spoke with a couple of different techs, they offered to do drive testing provided I payed for the gas needed.
When I lived in LA, my 2013 averaged around 24 mpg. In Des Moines Iowa, I get 33 mpg. SoCal is true city driving, which is not mesasured by EPA or car manufacturer.

wow. thats amazing you guys are getting that. I've had mine straight from the dealer, 350 miles already and I'm only getting 28MPG. I work 2mi away from home so I start and turn it off in less than 10 minutes and everytime I do that I'm showing 18MPG. I drove last weekend 50mi from home and only got 31MPG on cruise and Eco mode. I live in SoCal.

Yea 2 mile trips are hard to get high mpg unless you are really really trying. I can get 50-60 mpg on less than 2 mile trips IF there is limited traffic and limited stops. My best 2 mile trip was 60.1 mpg I believe. Usually, that means leaving my house, putting cruise on as soon as I hit 25 mph, while in ECO always, killing cruise to coast when feasible, slowly creeping up on the stop signs, slowly accelerating after stopping, going back into cruise, and only doing the speed limit. I will also usually use cruise control accel controls for increasing throttle which helps with short trips.

If I drove like a normal person on the same trip, I'd expect to get around 30 mpg.

When hypermiling, the 1.5T is quite a bit more efficient than the 2.0 however.

I was averaging 35-40 mpg city drive and 40-42 highway but after 1,000 miles I now average 42-50 mpg city and 48-55 mpg highway.

Got my car in dec 2015. All of 2016 was up and down. Drive with cruise on 65-80% of time. Do the speed limit. It works. Fairly flat, highway and city roads. Teach yourself. From lows to highs. Wants you get 49 mpg your say what 43 mpg. Use the Econ. You guys can do. Dealer calls us and said this will rock mpg, I swear he has my bank on speed dial. We got the car for 24hrs and that was it. Stock air filters are best for mpg. These guys are telling you the truth.
