Trim Bump Stops Without Removing Strut? Possible?

I lowered my car, but forgot to trim the bump tops. I don’t want to remove the struts again since it was a pain in the ass but I want to trim the bump stops. Is it possible to remove the wheel and trim the bump while the strut is on the car? I’ve read it’s possible on other car forums but haven’t read anything on Civics. From my understanding I just pull down the plastic cover, grab a knife and cut all around the bump stop. Trimming what Eibach recommends of course. Has anyone done this?
