I posted this on the other thread, but thought I would post this here as well. Please share this, I need as many video clips as possible.

Thanks.

However, the shifts can be quite notchy/grabby which definitely concerns me, because it does not feel like the smooth shift I started with or a shift I like to experience in a manual. I've been driving manuals for 19 yrs now and I'm sure a lot of you are seasoned stick drivers as well, so the experience is there and we all know what feels right and what doesn't.

I plan on doing the Amsoil change soon for S's & G's, but I'm sure the problem is deeper since several had tried this already and it only helped a bit. I can vote now that I've never had the issue, but it doesn't mean it wont come up in the future. My fingers are crossed that I never get crunching, but I'm still not thrilled my shifts feel like they do at times.

I also just want to say thank you to the people who are getting involved and taking action with this issue. Manufacturing problems are tough to battle, so when a population of people come together, especially early on, it can really make a difference. Let's hope a difference is made here.

mine didnt start happening until 5k miles. Seems that way for a few other members who didnt get the crunch until a few thousand miles into ownership. Pls make sure to update your vote if anything changes *knock on wood*

No problems so far but the car has a 100k miles power train warranty if any mechanical engine or transmission parts fail on the car. Not really worried at this point and the car runs like a champion.
Here is a pic to prove it lol.

I have personally never had the "grind" going into 2nd. Sometimes going into 2nd is a little crunchy, but it has never made a grind sound. With that said I've never redlined the rpm in 1st gear though. I don't have enough traction in 2nd gear, much less 1st. I have never experienced the 5-4 lockout.

I have definitely experienced 1st gear lockout when slowly rolling forward. Imagine rolling through a stop sign and the car not allowing you to go into 1st.

Knock on wood that I don't experience the other issues. For what it's worth I don't have rev match on if that matters.

Frequent/Intermitten

Mine started grinding on the way home from the dealer on slow, 1-2 shifts totally random.

Then after a few hundred miles I started driving harder and got a horrible, 1-2 grind on every drive when shifting fast, high rpm.

Now 7 months later the high rpm grind is gone and only a Intermitten 1-2 grind, when just normal driving.

I know the low rpm grind isn't user error. It's almost like the clutch isnt engaging/ disengaged fully on the shift.
Any updates on your case? Has Honda done anything to fix the problem?

Hi, I've just joined forum. Found this link and thought you should know I've started a similar discussion / poll on the FB page too. Is anybody any closer to working this out for good so I can share the fix over on the FB page?

Changed fluid at dealer (OEM fluid) just before storage and have had no more grinds, transmission feels better.

I voted, but for some reason never posted the requested info.

Grinds a few times a month

For anyone who is getting grinds and hasn’t taken their car in yet, beware of doing so. See my posts in the 2nd gear crunch thread for the full story on that. The gist is the car came back worse than it started and they still haven’t gotten it fixed after 3 weeks working on it.

No 2nd gear problem...but occasionally the shifter doesn't want to slide into 3rd...
