What type of transmission fluid should I be using i just installed my new clutch and put valvoline mtf but gears are locking me out what can it be?

I say drain the Valvoline and put Honda Genuine back in it. Honda Genuine has a low viscosity compared to other MTFs.

if that doesn’t help, then id be looking at your clutch job.

Straight from a Honda engineer (not a tech at a dealer, an engineer now much higher up) about my Si manual gearbox when I asked him about cold weather notchiness...

"Amsoil or GM Syncromesh are just as good if not better [than Honda fluid] We also kept GM Syncromesh for problem cars with notchy-ness."
