Mine recently broke, (4th gear got destroyed) and the only 'power'/engine mod I have is TSP stage 1..

I am worried now. did you get it fixed or Honda honored the warranty work

Nope, dealership still has my car and saying Honda denying warranty coverage due to finding that the car's been flashed and created over-stock levels of boost which caused the damage, and then reflashed to stock. I just don't understand though how tsp stage 1 alone could have done this though.. there are people making more HP/torque than solely tsp stage 1 (and I drive pretty conservatively 80% of the time) that have no issues with their trans.

Was there any misshifting involved or what exactly happened? I run the site's tuning reliability survey and would be interested in hearing more details if possible.

We've had members with some clutch issues with the TSP here and there but no destroyed manual transmissions in the survey.

One last thing. Whether the tune caused the failure or not, 99% of dealers will void your powertrain warranty once they find out you're tuned.

My 2018 si transmission oil gutter.

Opening the transmission was a pain in the butt. If I new that mine looked like this I would of left it alone.

Not every car has that issue. Better to open it up a little bit more lol doesn’t hurt. It’s hard to know who has that issue till a gear goes out

I take back what I said about it being a pain in the butt. If you know how to take a Honda manual transmission apart its not bad at all.

This was my first time with a Honda manual transmission so it was a miserable experience learning how to take it apart and put it together again. Once you figure it out it's a quick job in my opinion.

I got my hands on a L15 tranny that broke 3 and then it was fixed by a shop. Then it broke 4 and the owner just got a different one. I took it and I should have it cracked open tomorrow. I am kinda hoping the oil gutters are closed up then I know what the problem has been and I can fix this. Excellent thread.
