So i have been working with TrackSpecMotorsports located in Huntington Beach, CA for over the past few months getting these developed.

We went back and forth to see what works out the best.. we obvisouly need to make sure we get the side vents in because thats the style that i am sure most poeple will like.. but we needed to focus on the main heat source which was right where the intake inlet pipe and turbo/downpipe sits.

this may look a bit clustered and alot going on for a hood but i can tell you this hood works.. while i was a type-r expo west i can tell a difference in engine temps just opening up the hood after a run.. we didnt have a temperature gun with us as this was rushed last minute but i feel with the right person in the driverseat this will surely bring results.. the louvers literally came in the day before i had to make a 10hr drive up north to type-r expo.. i was able to knock it out in a day in a half.

Note that i bought a new OEM hood, but reused my original scoop.

(laid out the pieces on my hood to see how these louvers will fit)

(taking lots of measurements.. i think i spent around 2 hours going back and forth on both sides to make sure i didnt mess up the placement, never can be too careful)

(first placement was on for the passenger side)

(both sides now are in.. i think in the future i like the look of this better.. but not as functional)

(they do sit very flat as you can tell.. but looks great once rivets are in)

as far as washing your car with the hood on.. you need to take some precautions.. use bluetape and tape up the vents then proceed to wash.. its a hassle but its what you have to live with.. i havent tried washing the car with the hood vents exposed but i dont think ill have any issues..

Nice work Luis. But I have to comment on your side vents.

I understand most people want the side ones because the TCR cars but they are not running fender liners and those vents help relieve pressure from behind the wheels. So on a street car, not purposeful. The center vent over the engine is great. Wish it was bigger tho! Looks great overall! I will keep an eye on when they release to the public!

yea the side vents are more for aesthetic.. made a small little slit on the underside for the hell of it.. but the gem here is the center piece..

i did ask the owner of TrackspecMotorsports about the center vent and from his experience he said that it does not need to get any bigger.. this vent is as big or slightly larger than varis hood vent

you are more than welcome to take it out one day for a test during track.. come by and switch it off.. just dont break it lol

they work well.. i sold the hood to another socal member.. but we recently had rain and zero flooding.

water just goes right through the motor. intake is still sealed against the hood so thats something you dont have to worry about.

Is it fair to say that it just rivets down without cutting into the oem hood? Will water settle between the louvers and hood causing discoloration?

what? they are hood vents.. you are planning to put these on without cutting into them?
