My only concern with the 275 Nitto is tire rub but generally they fit pretty small and as long as the wheel offset is high enough, I would hope to avoid any issue on the fender with tire rub. OTOH, their section width is a bit larger than the 265 Yoko or Bridgestone. Also note that the Nitto NT01 is a significantly heavier tire by 3-4 lb in comparable sizes which helps longevity but hinders performance.

BTW, I ended up buying Titan 7 T-D6 rims for track use only. Neat that they are hub centric. We will see how they work out.

So how can I tell if the tire is going to rub before I buy?

I've got 18x9.5 R18 +38 (Advan TC-4), stock suspension, with Yoko Advan Neova 255/35R18 for my track set.
Long story (bought some used tires and wheels, got a flat, need new tires)

Really interested in the Nitto NT01s, but I can only find them at Discount in 275/35 R18 or 265/40 R18. Was planning to find a tire in 265/35 R18 but appears NT01 is not available in that size. (Also looking for a lapping tire/consistency), cost per track day important, not initial cost,

For reference, the info I've collected from this thread, along with current online prices for lapping tires are:
Falken Azenis RT615K+ Tire Rack $166.00
BFGoodrich Rival S 275/35 Tire Rack $346.69
Nitto Nt01 275/35 Discount Tire $295.00
Hancook Ventus R-4S Tire Rack $249.73
Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 R Tire Rack $336.46

I have stock suspension and 45mm offset 18 x 9.5 wheels. No issue with rub with Nitto Nt01s 275/35s

Dave, thank you for this info.

I just picked up a set of Motegi MR145 18x9.5 +45 and went with Goodyear 3R's in 275 width instead of 265 as they were actually cheaper. The 3R section width looks like it is just a hair under that of the Nitro NT01 and I'm definitely hoping I won't rub either (stock suspension and Hardrace front camber adjust plates up front set to B to get -2.7).

The Motegi's are about 21 lbs each and were roughly $232 each through Tire Rack.

I personally like the NT01s, they are very good practice tire that lasting about 5 track days and seem to even able to handle 2 more at least.
After I wear that set off I'll switch to A052 and see how fast a lap I can put in the practiced track.

However, for the cost, I'll eventually switch to Rt615K and RT660. Save a bit of my pocket with the same fun

So ordered the Nittos yesterday... Discount Tire Direct called me today. Out of stock and manufacturer can not given an ETA. The offered me Goodyear EAgle Supercar instead. Don't know which ones (F1 Gs or R3 or something else). Any opinions or experience?

The Supercar R is very fast and going to wear very quickly.
That's what I was afraid of.

Ended up going with TireRack as they had Advan Neova AD08 R, which a friend has run before (and were what I was replacing).

Anyone looking for track tires, give yourself some time. In 265 or 275 there were very few in stock, and no ETAs from manufacturers either even if you are willing to wait. No Nitto NT01, not Hancook RSs, No more Rival S's and the S1. is not available yet.

Did you check with Phils Tires by chance? They have a bunch of 200aa tires in stock I believe. Though they carry a slimmer amount of brands.

Have to agree with MadMage. Several sources/contacts have indicated that finding track tires during covid with the related supply issues has been challenging.

No, hadn't heard of them. Just Discount and TireRack. Figured if they couldn't get from the manufacturer's then it would be up to me to stumble upon someone sitting on a stash, and I had no leads in that department :)

Ive used Phils tires once and they were great. They deal with mostly competition tires with brands other places dont carry like Federal and Nankang, but they also stock other brands as well, like Toyo, Michelin, etc.
