@KA0S I believe this is an option you can customize in the settings (another thing I love about this car - there are so many settings you can tailor to your liking!). I believe you can set it to off (never auto-lock), by speed (locks at vehicles speeds of 10+ mph) or when shifting out of park. I don't have the car yet so I'm just going by the manual and it's a bit ambiguous about the last option I mentioned. Some models may not have all options, by the sound of it though. The default setting is to auto-lock by speed.
I have mine set to lock when I shift out of park. Works great!

Me, too. I feel safer that way, somehow!

I have gone twice through a touchless wash without issue.

Mine used to lock at 8 mph but I just changed the setting to "out of P" couple days ago. Have gone thru Mikes/Crew carwash several times and haven't noticed anything with the fuel door so I'm sure it's been locked each time. Only thing I've noticed in the car wash is a "thump" during the high speed dryers. I think it's something with the shark fin, but not sure.

Touchless also doesn't get the dirt that seems to very easily get under the door trim. Has anyone else noticed this? I can wash my car's exterior, but I find on this vehicle, I have to open all of the doors and clean the well of the door because a lot gets under there. I don't remember that being an issue in my previous vehicle. Here's a pic of what I mean:

Nope - not my old Accord. It had a gasket that sealed the seam down to the very bottom of the door. I never had water and mud intrusion like the new Civic does.

Just something I noticed this weekend after I got a touchless car wash... the fuel cover/lid propped open by the water pressure. I hope it didn't take in water.

Just a note of caution if you're going through touchless car washes as well.

I might tape it up next time, or try another car wash.

Can't wait for summer to have the pleasure of washing my own car... too cold right now.
Lock the doors while going theough it.

Which gas station has the best car wash in Toronto? Also, I got a few drop of gas onto the paint when I was fueling, how do I clean it? Is it bad if I leave it until I wash my car?

I would wash the area right away with car wash soap. It won't damage clear coat but it'll eat through wax and could stain your paint.

To be honest, all automated car washes are the same. The spinning bristles micro-mar the clearcoat, touchless uses harsh detergents that strips wax, sealant and clearcoat over time.

PLEASE REFER TO THIS POST. If you want the best, you've got to wash it yourself.

The side view mirrors are huge on this car and sometimes end up folding through a touch less car wash.

Per the manual (page 553), if going through a car wash:
• Make sure to follow the instructions indicated on the automated car wash.
• Fold in the door mirrors.
• Turn off the automatic intermittent wipers (If you have them).

Elsewhere, it says not to leave the brake hold on (if you have that)

I have noticed this with my Civic as well. It has never been an issue with any other car I've owned including one Civic and three Accords.

It is especially noticeable with the white color.

Just close out the topic... went in the same car wash and ensured the doors were locked and the fuel door stayed closed! That's all folks!
