Totalled? I hope not because I love this car.

If it's totaled out, buy another civic hatch?

Hey everybody, I got t-boned by a lyft driver on Wednesday and I'm heartbroken. My civic got blasted pretty bad but it could have been worse.
Three airbags deployed so I'm thinking it might be totaled. What do you guys think?

The worst part is if you looked at the car from the opposite side of where the impact was it looks completely fine.

Entire front corner smashed, likely external engine component or transmission damage, potentially bent frame rail and to top it off, 3 deployed airbags.
I’d hazard a guess that it’ll become a parts car.

You got t-boned or you t-boned somebody?
Im guessing this guy had the right of way and the lyft driver pulled out onto the road even though he shouldn't have. Honestly without a pic of the front I can't say for sure, but I do think theres a chance it'll just be fixed from the pics you posted. The front corner is smashed but I don't think that means frame damage. But since the 3 airbags did deploy its a toss up. I think if there is actually damage to components like the transmission along with frame damage and the airbags being deployed , its 100% totaled, but if not then theres still a decent chance they might just go ahead and fix it.

I'm going to say 50/50. The airbags deployed but the hood didn't bend much from the impact. How fast were the impact speeds?

As much as you love the car, you are better off if it is totaled. Whenever the airbags go off, it significantly depreciates the value of the car. I don’t understand how it’s legal, but it’s the way the industry works now. If they see in the car fax that the airbags deployed, you will get next to nothing on a trade or to sell it outright.

Update: it's confirmed as totalled. Roughly 16k in damages pictured. I think I'm gonna get the same car.
