What’s the top speed of the Civic Hatch Sport? Hit 120 once but I felt like she could’ve kept going. Just curious.

Honda electronically limits their non-R, non-Si vehicles to 128 mph. The Si is electronically limited to 137 mph. The R is aerodynamically limited to 169 mph.

167MPH for the si. Top that I've seen.

I know, I know, you're asking about the hatch

He's also probably asking about factory stock top speed. Si top speed is ~137 MPH. Yours must have some serious modifications to hit 167.

Would a tune overcome the 128mph electronic limit? Like is it something set by the ECU?

500hp is the goal.

I'm really curious how this is the case. With a drag coefficient of a prius. A camaro ss is aerodynamic limited which makes sense with one of the worse drag coefficient in the industry. Idk because I'd need enough open space to get there but only seen 165.

ECU limit at 137mph is coincidentally the top of of 5th gear at 6500rpm. After you tune to remove limit you can run 6th up another 30mph to 167 if you have enough power. 250whp+ should get you there. This is on 19' and previous, the '20 final drive gear ratio is little lower so each gear is a little less.

Yep. There's a setting to remove the speed limiter on Hondata and KTuner. This car is surprisingly stable well over 120 mph "from what I understand".

Not that i'm looking to test it lol, espcially since we're already getting snow here. But I'm curious, how safe do you think that might that be for a CVT? I'm talking more the safety of the engine/transmission instead of the nut behind the wheel at this point lmao.

As far as the CVT, the concern would be too much low end torque more than anything.

I'm going to have to go look, not sure how I've missed this setting to remove the limiter haha. No suspension mods here and I get comments like "I didn't expect it to be so smooth, you don't even notice how fast you're going" once you get up over triple digi's. I imagine with a few suspension mods it's ridiculously stable....

I just realized I misspoke earlier. On Hondata, yes, you can manually override the vehicle's factory speed limiter. But, KTuner doesn't have this option as the speed limiter is removed right out of the box.

Sorry for the confusion.
