Long story short, found myself on a rural mountain road in my base model Civic with the 2.0 engine and CVT. Probably the least enthusiast friendly trim. So you would expect it to be kind of lousy on a back road right? Well wrong. I was shocked at how competent the Honda made their economy trim Civic, the car handled corners beautifully despite having no LSD and I was pushing it pretty damn hard. I should say that the car is tuned so it is making probably about 20 horsepower more than stock and it also has throttle response at level 2 so those things probably made a good difference. But still, revving car out and going through the corners and hairpins with this car was way more fun than it had any right to be. I was kicking myself for not being able to drive the bimmer on this road, but I still had plenty of fun surprisingly. I've had this car for 2.5 years and this was probably the hardest I had driven it ever.
