Hi Fellow Honda Enthusiasts,

I am in the process of acquiring 18in x 9.5 +45 wheels and am looking for a tire size that will give me the largest sidewall with no rubbing on stock suspension. I will not be modifying my car, and intend to run a high performance all season as this is my daily and I live in a climate that can get very cold at a moments notice with a lot of rain in between (I also have a dedicated set of true winter wheels/tires 245/40 blizzaks) and our roads here are absolutely terrible. I will not be tracking this car on these wheels/tires, its for my daily commute so max width isn't as important as height and daily usability.

I noticed some threads discussing this but the tire recommendations were geared toward high performance summers which can vary significantly from all seasons for the same spec. I believe 255/40 may be the size but wanted to double check before making the purchase.

Thanks!

Well my Titan 7 wheels are on their way!!!

Now I need to hammer out the tire size.

Has anyone run a 265/40 on stock suspension?

255-40 is what I’m running on stock suspension with same spec wheels.
I had 265-35 before and it left a huge wheel gap I wasn’t happy with…
Thanks for getting me know. I definitely don't want a huge wheel gap.

Id say a 255/40/18 is what youre looking for. A 265/40/18 might be more sidewall than necessary. Ive seen 265-35-18 Michelin P4Ss before and that sidewall is perfect, but if it gets really cold you may not like that tire.

255/40/18 (+0.2" diameter, +1.2" sidewall), 265/40/18 (+0.5" diameter, +1.7" sidewall), or 265/35/18 (-0.5" diameter, +0.5" sidewall) would be the tire size you'd want for that. A 245/40/18 might stretch on 9.5" wide rims.

255/40 sits between 265/40 and 265/35 in terms of sidewall.
