As a new owner of a ctr in Philadelphia, I am looking to replace the stock wheels with 18" for better pothole safety during winter driving.
I have been doing a furious amount of research and appreciate the wisdom of the forum.
Is the following conclusion accurate: 60mm offset is ideal and early drivers were careful to keep the offset high in order to keep the torque steer away. However, with more and more wheels and tires tested by many drivers, smaller offset is acceptable.
For example, the Titan7 wheels designed for ctr employ 45mm offset. Some other combinations on tire rack allow 40mm offset.
Does this mean, I can basically order any acceptable combination offered by tire rack?
