To quote the dealer “we’re not sure if it was like this when you dropped it off”.

This is next level fail for wheel damage. I can see the outer area maybe if you don’t know what your doing. I’m assuming they did it while balancing them. There’s more damage but these show it best.

? That’s one of those things that just pisses me off. We’re at the point where we need to drive to the location, then take pics of each wheel out in public so people, including the techs, can see us taking ‘before’ pics.

They said they will have them repaired but we shall see. So if that happens all good. They changed their tune when I pointed out that the damage was right where the brake dust I didn’t clean off prior was rubbed off.

I had a dealer use a flathead to pry the old weights off, gouging my wheel barrels to hell. And they left a screw off the splash pan after an oil change which resulted in it falling off and being destroyed. And they tried scamming me saying the Type R has a more adjustable suspension so it didn’t qualify for their alignment special and would cost $250. They refused to make anything right in any of these instances.

I have never once had a good experience with a dealership, other than when I bought my Rs.

Needless to say, I do absolutely everything myself now, no matter how complex.

Looks like the tech dropped the wheel on it's face on accident. Wow. Glad they are making it right.

Don't take your Type R to a dealership to get the wheels changed guys - go to Discount tire or someone else that deals with tires on the regular. Iv'e had zero issues with using Discount tire for my Type R and other vehicles - the only place that ever fubars a wheel is the dealership since they never touch wheels or the wheel machine on the regular.

Good luck out there - but go to someone that does that ONE TASK all the time.

I take pictures of each wheel as the service advisor is coming out to the car. Everytime. I also leave a note taped to the infotainment remaindering everyone that the dash cam is running and location is being tracked. That's regardless of if it is with the dealer or Discount Tire.

Makes me feel like an ass-hat, but I've never had a service put even a single mile on my car or screw up the wheels or anything.

As someone who has done this on accident, no. this is way worse and has scrapes sideways like some sort of rotation.

That's torque wrench without a spacer.
reasonable conclusion with the paint pushed off to one side (just so happens to be in the same motion as tightening too) Super dumb if this was the case. even a deep socket would give enough clearance just laziness by the tech.

Understood. Just don't see how someone "keeps going" after the first swipe of the turn doing damage. Maybe wearing headphones? But aren't your eyes on the job as well? Whatever happened, it sucks for the OP.

You would have felt it even if you didn’t hear it.
