I'll be getting a Type R in 2 days and have a little experience driving a manual, but have been mostly driving automatics for a while. Are there any important tips you guys can share that will make my experience driving the R better? i.e. shifting from 1st gear to 2nd gear at x rpm.
I was in the same position as you...bought my 2020 fk8 sept 12th and learned next day..im sure you did fine ? especially when you drop the coin on that car

Yeah I'm comfortable using manual now. It only sucks when I'm in a rare situation where I'm stuck in terrible highway stop and go traffic lol

something very similar to what Chevy Chase says when he's golfing
be the ball not the stick
it's pretty much similar when you're driving a manual
be the car. see the gears, read the speed. the rest will come automatically lol

Mastering a manual transmission is knowing the distance between shifts on the tachometer. You memorize the distance between shifts and what RPM each gear is at with thousands of miles behind the wheel. When you’re ripping downshifts and nailing rev match downshifts, that’s when you really start to love driving a manual car with confidence.

100% agreed back in the day. MANUAL was a hell of a lot of fun with true 1.5 VTEC
