Are you serious, all J engines still use belts...Honda hasn't used belts for a while now I'm thinking 2005 I could be wrong
Yep used to be rule of thumb was change belt at 60k and water pump same time....I hated beltsI have only ever had to change 1 belt out of all the cars I've owned, and it was a turd anyway. Chains are good. Too bad I can't get a noisy gear drive for my Coupe. I always loved that "whine" in my mustang.
Well I try not to be to serious it gives you wrinkles that said I did say "I COULD BE WRONG" A simple all J engines still use belts would of sufficedAre you serious, all J engines still use belts...
My 2007 Pilot 3.5L V6 still has a timing belt. But I didn't even change that out until nearly 100,000 miles. Not bad really.Honda hasn't used belts for a while now I'm thinking 2005 I could be wrong
100k that's great, I was always worried they'd snap and brick the motorMy 2007 Pilot 3.5L V6 still has a timing belt. But I didn't even change that out until nearly 100,000 miles. Not bad really.
I had a 99 Ford escort, 138k miles, stock timing belt, ran great. My 2007 Pilot 3.5L V6 still has a timing belt. But I didn't even change that out until nearly 100,000 miles. Not bad really.
I have a '04 civic that definitely uses a belt. It's got to be changed every 7 years or a maximum of some mileage I can't recall. Real PITA !Honda hasn't used belts for a while now I'm thinking 2005 I could be wrong
My 99 hatch has a belt, I changed it at 107k miles, but it was also 14 years old. The belt had no large cracks in it was still in good shape.I have a '04 civic that definitely uses a belt. It's got to be changed every 7 years or a maximum of some mileage I can't recall. Real PITA !

That was a super good car.
You lucked out then lol. My dad had a '97 Tracer, with only 7xxxx on it. Biggest POS ever. We had fun with it though, only because it was fun to flog it.I had a 99 Ford escort, 138k miles, stock timing belt, ran great.

I might normally agree with you, but that escort was great. I had it 10 years, and had absolutely zero issues. Seriously. I changed oil, spark plugs & wires one time, tires, and one belt. That's pretty much it. Honestly, probably best car I've ever had.You lucked out then lol. My dad had a '97 Tracer, with only 7xxxx on it. Biggest POS ever. It was his backup car at the time. He raced some dude in a Camaro on I-95 at 100 MPH in it...he's turning 59 in November. I know where my immaturity comes from...
