What's the starting character of your VIN?When I was told by the dealer that Civics were no longer made in IN, I looked into this. What I found is that Civic production moved to Japan & the IN plant was making SUVs in order to keep up with demand. And my 2018 Civic sedan was made in Japan. According to that link it sounds like at least some Civics are made in the USA. Does anyone know that for a fact? I'm just curious
It's a J=Japan. What I find interesting is that the window sticker statesWhat's the starting character of your VIN?

Considering that Honda has solar powered car carriers, it’s likely a minimal expense. It's a J=Japan. What I find interesting is that the window sticker states
"For Vehicles In This Carline"
U.S./Canadian Parts Content: 60%.
Major Sources of Foreign Parts Content:
Japan 20%
Most of the parts are shipped from North America to Japan, then assembled along with other parts into a car, then shipped back to the USA. It doesn't seem efficient shipping thousands of pounds back & forth but I guess it works.
That is the Civic platform.Remember a couple of years ago a City was spotted at Honda NA HQ in California.
The Accord is going to be sold in Japan, but not there yet, some say it may be made in Thailand, so perhaps Thailand already has it.The last paragraph: similar regional models consolidated into single models.
Hmm. Are they talking about the Fit/Jazz type of thing, or are they hinting the Accord might combine with the JDM City or go away? The Accord is only sold in North America and Japan now, I think.

I was thinking that same thing about all the other companies that have flat dropped cars. Toyota and Honda will clean right up.Speaking about SUV production and everyone selling trucks like crazy, I'm just waiting for that gas shortage/price spike again like we had 10 years ago.
We are all the way back to $5 CAD a US gallon or higher in Canada...because gas shot up above $4 a gallon?
