I've heard some complaints about lackluster throttle response in the new Civic's. I wanted to know if this was better in the 2.0 N/A vs the 1.5 Turbo?

No complaints with the 2.0 w/ CVT. I test drove a manual as well with no issues. They feel pretty peppy.

My 2.0 NA/CVT is a dog in "D" (Drive). Hit the accelerator and nothing happens for a second or two.
Passing on 2 lane highways is dangerous.

However, in "S" (Sport) mode it is quick enough to keep ahead of most of the traffic when I want to.
You have the choice. Great mileage (D) or peppy response (S).

Take a test-ride in both cars (2.0NA and 1.5T). Try both "D" and "S" in each car.

I had to get used to the turbo lag at first, this is my first ever turbo, but after replacing the air intake hose, it cut that in half and I'm pretty happy , and as someone else mentioned, sport mode is even quicker.
Economic mode kills it though, except at WOT.

I had a rental sedan LX 2.0 CVT for a week that I drove from GA to NY and I own a hatchback LX 1.5 CVT for my daily driver. I liked both cars quite a bit but the 1.5 definitely has more shove and I'm much happier with the power level overall. The 2.0 got much better highway gas mileage (55 vs 43) and about equal commute mileage (31). The sedan had much better ride quality for commuting, the hatchback ride is much firmer and bumpier, but not so much as to be punishing.

Many Dyno charts indicated the k20C2 in the lx civic to be around
132 to 140 whp. So it’s quite lower than the rated 158hp not surprisingly...

It's fine. I have the 1.5T CVT and it's peppy especially when you drop it down to Sport mode

I have a '17 Si Coupe. Not my first turbo, but this is the smallest engine I've had in a long time. Just clocked my first 1,000 miles so now I'm exploring the throttle/acceleration a bit more aggressively. Noticed that as long as I keep the revs above 2500 RPM, there's no lack of power. Pretty impressive that Honda got a little over 200 BHP out of a tiny 1.5L engine.
