Yes, I would offer to pay $300 of the $600 there asking. Both fees are inflated in price and that’s negotiating. I can say I’ve walked away from cars over $500 before and most times dealer calls back within days.
I try and do 5 minute deals, no test drives just a good inspection of the car for dings or scratches. Pre approved and in and out of the dealership not wasting anyone’s time.

I found WA dealer still wanting ADM for type r, and I had to get one from out of state shipped, which comes to around msrp after shipping.. to be honest, I find paying msrp in 2020 for a 2019 car a bit absurd. here's hoping it could hold it's value better

I am a grinder when buying and would offer to pay $35k flat, if they won’t take it keep looking. 2019’s will only get cheaper.
Not so sure about that. When the 2020s are on the lot at 40k + ADM why would a dealer discount the 2019 models? They could sell it for 39k and say, “:still thousands cheaper than a 2020.”

Like I said I am a grinder.
2019 takes a big hit as it’s a year old and not the latest and greatest.
I would rather pay msrp for a 20 with the upgrades and get to drive it for a year before taking a hit like the 19 will from day 1.
In 3 years the 20 will also have the better resale. At the end of the day buy what makes you happy!

I agree with what you said about standing firm about the ridiculous fees. I'm not exactly sure if the 19's take a big hit, cause used prices are still up there and KBB private party value for a relatively low mile CTR is almost the price of MSRP. The 20's are coming, only god knows when.

Maybe I'm crazy, but complaining about $600 in fees when they are already discounting the car $3000 seems a bit nuts to me. Especially when you do realize (as quoted above) that used CTRs with 10k+ miles are being advertised at MSRP. Jump on the deal, don't turn back. I'm finding it difficult to find a CTR at MSRP within 500 miles of me, and those will have dealer fees on top of that! Your deal is $3k under MSRP!!!! What am I missing? This isn't a run of the mill Accord, you know.

Bruh, it's not 3k under MSRP. 37,230-34,762 = 2468.

OK. I amend my comments with the EXACT SAME ADVICE. You are $2,468 under MSRP and complaining about $300? Wait until you buy tires. $$$$$$.

Have them remove outrageous etching and doc fees or walk. Don’t give in.
Every dealer charges doc fees that is NORMAL. Around here the doc fees are 350 to 500 depending on the dealership. If the $300 is going to make or break the deal, then the car is probably not for you.

Walking away from a deal for a car at that price for a few hundred bucks is a classic 'biting off your nose to spite your face' moment. Come on lol. Get the car imo.

Nothing wrong with being a grinder but if the 2020 is close to 40k MSRP and the 2019 is about 2.5k off of MSRP, there is no way the 2020 will be worth 5k more in three years.

As I (and others) stated above, look at the entire deal. A buyer would have already wired the dealer the funds.

I’m surprised someone else hasn’t already taken that deal, particularly for the hard to find blue color. It’s discounted below MSRP, so I don’t think you’re losing due to it being a 2019.

I found a blue CTR for a hundred bucks over invoice but they are charging a 300 buck fee for vin etching which they refuse to take off and a 300 buck doc fee. Thoughts?
I think you have to do it, you’re not gonna find another deal like that.
