As I predicted, there will NOT be a 2022 CTR, the 11th gen CTR will start with shipping a 2023 model year:

Honda Civic 10th gen There will NOT be a 2022 MY CTR, it will be 2023 1627311050443

I think this will really make 10th gen CTR values hold high. Now we sit back and wait for leaks to trickle in for the next year/year and a half.

edit: If HPJ post is accurate, that means there will be a 2023 model year CTR shipped in 2022. https://global.honda/newsroom/news/2021/4210624eng.html thanks to @TypeSiR for sharing the link

I don't know why anyone expected different, there wasn't a 2016 one either.
The first hatches were 2017 model year vehicles so there wouldn't have been a 16 R anyway. R production hasn't skipped a year until now.

Huh, you're right. I thought the regular hatch was a 2016 start as well. I wonder if they moved the regular hatch up this time since they're not doing manuals in the sedans?

They actually didn't skip a year technically, cause the Phoenix Yellow is the "limited edition" IE 2022 CTR and the Boost Blues were supposed to be the 2021 special color run

This was why I was expecting it at least mid-2022. But I imagine it could still be named 2023.

It’s just semantics. Most of the world didn’t get the 2017 CTR until August (went on sale in the US mid June in limited numbers) that same year. If it’s remotely on schedule as the ‘17, Honda can either call the new one 2022 or 2023, depending on how the wind blows.

The Limited Edition is a 2021 model year vehicle from Honda's 10th generation lineup:

I know HondaPro posted this but I would really like to know if it’s legit or not. I mean the way he did makes seem like he’s confident. But nothing really out there for actual proof other than some photos which don’t prove year lol.

22 / 23 - the more I look at the camo version I do see some possibilities and am excited for the final reveal.

I’ve never found anything HPJ has stated to be off basis or inaccurate. I’m not saying he never has, but I’ve never seen it. He accurately called the 2017 CTR delivery timeframe in 2016. He accurate claimed PY was coming for the 10th gen CTR in 2019, as well as accurately claiming a new blue would be coming for 2020 (it ended up being Boost Blue).

He is a paid employee for US Honda’s marketing team, and I surmise that earlier last week when leaked photos were shown of the new CTR but claimed to be 2022 model year (ie Motor 1) prompted Honda to ask Jason to make this post clarifying that it will not be available for a 2022 model year.

Still worth it to save up you wont know what the new generation Type -r will cost. You have time to hunt the 10th gen for the price you want and save up...

Don't forget he was the guy that assured us that the Civic SI was coming out with a 2.0T. He isn't reliable.
