I've had my 2018 FK8 Honda Civic Type R,(2nd hand got it with 6tkms) for about 6 months now (now at 9tkms)and this is the build so far:

Vehicle: 2018 FK8 Honda Civic Type R

Total tuned time: 6 months

Total tuned mileage: 4,000 km

Tuning device(s) used: Hondata

Tunes used: Hondata, +Custom Tune by Leo from Speedwork Engineering

Additional engine mods:
- HKS Intercooler
- HKS Oil cooler (using HKS Super Turbo Racing 5W40)
- HKS Blow off valve ( SUPER SQV IV)
- HKS Racing suction kit
- HKS Hi-Power Spec LII exhaust
- PRL Downpipe
- Hondata Flash Pro (Custom Tune)

Power as of now (dynojet)
382 whp at the front wheels
387 lb-ft at the front wheels

I've also jailbroken the head unit using hondahack and have the hondata app with the flashpro connected for monitoring different vehicle info and I have a Cusco strut bar.

Problems/issues: None

Driving style: Low-speed city driving and long higher-speed highway pulls, generally relaxed and short shifting for comfort, every now and then some aggressive acceleration pulls but generally only really banging gears when on a run with friends.

Thanks for adding your car. Appreciate the dyno and pics too. You're the thread's 40th Type R.

Come on FK8 guys, add your car. Don't be shy. :)

On another note, I want to thank everyone who has recently added their car to the thread. I'm having better luck getting folks onboard. That's a great thing for our community.

2nd update
Vehicle: 2017 Civic Si Coupe

Total tuned time: 16 Months(engine) 2 Months(Transmission)

Tuned miles driven: 37000 miles(engine) 1500 miles(Transmission)

Tuning device(s) used: Ktuner 1.2

Tunes used: factory tune/24psi no rev hang. PRL CAI checked. no rev hang checked

Fuel used: 7-11 93 octane mostly (I'm too lazy to drive to exxon)

Additional related mods: PRL CAI, cut mufflers

Problems/issues: Felt slippage with hard pulls to find out the bearing blown in transmission at around 30-50k miles odometer. Transmission replaced under warranty. After replacement, Transmission no longer feels slippy. Made full use of that $3k of Honda care. If my engine blows, back to the dealer.

Driving style: Spirited driving. Tons of stop and go

Tuning experience notes: I went for max boost that the ktuner allows. Most settings are pretty much default besides the rev hang toggled off.

Vehicle: 2020 Civic Si sedan

Total tuned time: 10 months

Tuned miles: 15,000

Tuning device: Ktuner v2

Tunes used: Ktuner start maps, TSP stage 1, Phearable stage 1.5 w GOD mode, TSP stage 1.5+

Fuel used: Sunoco 93

Additional engine mods: Prl cobra cai with race maf, prl catless dp, prl intercooler with charge pipes

Problems: Only issue I experienced was a bad misfire during a pull that caused the engine to lose all power. I pulled over, thinking I blew a rod, but I didn’t see any damage or oil upon inspection. I turned the car off and on and it was running normal again

Driving style: very aggressive, several pulls a day and driven spiritedly

Tuning experience: I have been fortunate enough to be given this car as my first car, I pay the insurance, gas, and any other maintenance or mods. Given I am a 17 year old enthusiast, I drive the car hard. This is my daily driver and the car takes almost anything I throw at it. I am planning on buying a clutch and sway bars soon, then getting flex fuel. I am also planning on tracking my car this summer, which I will document my experience.

Vehicle: 2018 Civic EX Hatchback

Total tuned time: 1 months

Total tuned mileage: 2,000

Tuning device(s) used: Ktuner v1.2

Tunes used: TSP stage 1 map 1

Fuel used: 83

Additional engine mods: None

Problems/issues: None

Driving style: Slightly speedy with aggressive bursts from time to time.

Tuning experience notes: Tune makes it a lot nicer needing to pass people. I don't have to worry about waiting for power to show up after I am half way through. TSP tune seems to be similar to stock, quicker response, more power, but I can drive low key without worry about the car taking off. Having the option to change the mapping on the fly is nice in case I want to have that extra boost. I will say I managed to get 46 mpg on the TSP tune map 3 on a 300 mile road trip.

Fuel Used: shell 91 nitro power and Pump e85

problems: front passenger side strut of my D2 coilovers blew a seal but was warrantied out and is getting replaced. Also a P0420 code because the K&N with a unscaled MAF adjustment for the basemap tune is causing me to run super rich.
*edit
K&N is out of the picture and car doesn’t run super rich anymore with the

Driving style: Daily driven, low mileage, with occasional spirited trips.

Tuning experience notes: everything is great so far, hoping to get a dyno tune soon!
*update 2*

Tuned miles driven: 9,0000+

Tuning device(s) used: KTuner V1.2

Tunes used: KTuner Dual 22 mild quick adjustments; maf scaling

Fuel used: 100 RON (ELIN-AVIN)

Additional related mods: Mishimoto intake / Hondahack with tunerview lite

Problems/issues: None

Driving style: Slightly speedy with aggressive bursts from time to time.

Notes: Stock spark plugs/ gapping 0.65mm, Knock control increases from 0.49 to 0.77 after long pulls (only after 5.400rpm). Otherwise always 0.48/0.49.

Tuning experience notes: Happy to get into tuning; few things I know more to learn. Main reason of getting tuned is because of I see there is room for fine tuning and coming from N/A b18c driving feeling I needed car to be more fun to drive.

Check to see if your ECU has the new artificial knock control removal quick enable. That will eliminate the high rpm k.c. jump you're seeing.

A couple thread stat/info related items.

First off, I added some new tuning device stats. I'm now showing Hondata and KTuner devices by model. Here's the current usage stats:

Hondata used for tuning: 110; Race (95) Carb (15)
KTuner used for tuning: 435; V1.2 (248) V2 (187)

Also, if you've updated to either the Phearable 1.5 R tune or the TSP 1+, add a new post here reflecting that. I know John Vega and the TSP folks would appreciate that.

I would be interested but this is the first time I hear this.
