Vehicle: 2019 Civic Si

Total tuned time: 3 Months

Tuned miles driven: 9,000

Tuning device(s) used:
Hondata RACE Flashpro

Tunes used: Hondata +6 OTS

Fuel used: 91

Additional related mods: PRL Cobra CAI, Remark Exhaust

Problems/issues: None

Driving style: Cruisin' with occasional aggressive bursts, never trying to floor it

Tuning experience notes: Not really experienced with tuning cars. Just something to spice up the drive. Coming from a single cam EJ8, wasn't looking for extreme power. I am learning more and more with what the numbers translate to. I have taken the car out to the track pre-tune, so it'd be interesting what the numbers would look like on a track day. I enjoy the disabled rev hang, and some of the basic hondata features. Definately no issues hopping on the freeway or passing regular cars to force the lane. For now, as my daily, I enjoy the tune. Possibly down the road, upgrading the clutch, I can go for something more aggressive. For now, I'm content. Thanks to the thread, it's a nice reference to look back at if anything goes wrong.

Seven interesting stats from the data so far:

The Si failure rate is only 1.2%

The CVT failure rate is 1.9%

The 1.5T Non-Si failure rate is 3.8%

OTS tunes are the most reliable (3 failures)

21% of cars run full bolts ons

Only 20% of users choose Hondata

11% have installed flex fuel kits

Vehicle: Civic Hatch Sport CVT

Total tuned time: 32 months

Tuned miles driven: 12,000mi / 28,000mi TOTAL

Tuning device(s) used: KTuner

Tunes used: max default settings on kTuner and base flex fuel map

Fuel used: E30

Additional related mods: PRL Flex Fuel

Problems/issues: limp mode once on highway when engine was not warm yet?

Driving style: treated it like sports car but babying "fragile" transmission - getting up to speed before WOT's

Tuning experience notes: best bang for buck from research and experience. Only issue is top end due to stock turbo. Can kind of keep up with M3's until top end drop

Total tuned time: 4 Days lol

Tuned miles driven: 200 (Flashed at 4700 for future reference.)

Tuning device(s) used: Hondata

Tunes used: Phearable Stage 2 Hondata Tune

Fuel used: 93 Octane

Additional related mods: none

Problems/issues: None

Driving style: Relaxed generally, will take advantage of a good twisty, on-ramp, and/or the occasional open road

Tuning experience notes: First off, anyone with an 2020+ FK8 make sure you take off the jailbreaker before flashing your tune... I totally forgot and thought I was gonna brick my ECU lol. Luckily it was okay with a quick reflash after I realized what happened.

This tune itself is amazing, the power almost seems too good to be true for no bolt-ons. My LTFT/STFT's look beautiful. The power delivery is extremely smooth, 3rd gear pull the car is a missile. Catching up to people on the highway is crazy easy even from a stop. And I can put the car back to "stock" on comfort mode. Amazing tune @phearable
Update 10/26/21:

Tuned miles driven: 2100 (Currently at 6800 miles)

Zero complaints or problems. Highly recommend the Phearable tune for FK8's.

Update to post # 2473:

Vehicle: 2020 Civic Hatchback EX (CVT)

Total tuned time: 9 months (tuned as soon as got home with car from dealership)

Tuned miles driven: 3,100

Tuning device(s) used: Hondata CARB Flashpro for approx 500-600 miles, switched to KTuner V2 and used with TSP Stage 1 immediately.

Tunes used: Hondata +6 Carb 5-600 miles, TSP Stage 1 from 600-1800 miles; Phearable Stage 1.5 1800-2950 miles; @ 2,950 miles Phearable 1.5R - Map 3.

Fuel used: 76 Gas Station 91 octane + 1 gallon E85 each fill up

Additional related mods: Si/CR-V turbo & Si TIP, BMS Intercooler, BMS Intake w/ Mishimoto hose, 27Won catted downpipe & frontpipe.

Problems/issues: Can't stop buying stuff for the car and spending too much on a car I barely drive.

Driving style: Normal dad driving, with 1 or 2 full boost/throttle pulls each time I take the car out.

Tuning experience notes: Switched to Phearable 1.5R the day it was released/emailed. Kcon stays at 0.49-0.51, haven't noticed much change in kcon even after a good full throttle/boost pull. Might be placebo, but car does feel slightly stronger and faster. Also, LTFT w/ BMS intake ranges from +1 to -2, but usually at or very close to 0.
Update to post # 2639:

Vehicle: 2020 Civic Hatchback EX (CVT)

Total tuned time: 12 months

Tuned miles driven: 3,900
900 trouble free miles since last post

Tuning device(s) used: Hondata CARB Flashpro for 500-600 miles, KTuner V2 since.

Tunes used: Hondata +6 Carb 5-600 miles, TSP Stage 1 from 600-1800 miles; Phearable Stage 1.5 1800-2950 miles; @ 2,950 miles Phearable 1.5R - Map 3.

Fuel used: 76 Gas 91 octane + 1 gallon E85 each fill up

Additional related mods: Si/CR-V turbo & Si TIP, BMS Intercooler, BMS Intake w/ PRL Cobra CAI conversion, 27Won catted downpipe & Frontpipe. RZ Crew Intake Manifold coated in thermal dispersant and a ported throttle body.

Problems/issues: None noted

Driving style: Normal dad driving, with 1 or 2 full boost/throttle pulls each time I take the car out.

Tuning experience notes: So far everything has been great, planning to eventually get a Phearable E-tune to take full advantage of the new intake manifold.

Whoops... I guess I forgot to mention the clutch in my mods ? I replaced my clutch at this past June with the Type R retrofit clutch.
Ah! Okay, now it all makes sense. ?

Yeah, my stock clutch had about enough after a couple weeks with the TSP Stage 1 tune ?
Oh, dang! I’ve been TSP Stage 1 tuned for a month now, but 1) I set BBG to 16psi below 4K RPMs in every gear, and 2) it’s highly rare if I ever go above 80% throttle.

Does that apply itself for all 3 maps on TSP or is it just for one? Seems like smart idea to do instead of rolling into my pulls.
