No problem at all. You’re doing a lot for the 10th gen community just by having this thread and keeping it alive, the least we can do is add our tuned cars and give updates periodically.

& thank you, much appreciated :)
Your post is EXACTLY what we need more of. You originally posted when you only had 250 tuned miles driven. And we get a lot of guys who never add a second post. So seeing your additional 10,000 or so problem free miles is a big deal --- it helps.

I plan on providing yearly updates for as long as I own this tuned car! I will do my part for the 10th gen community

Vehicle: 2020 Si Coupe

Total tuned time: 3 years and 19 days

Tuned miles driven:
44K+

Tuning device(s) used: Ktuner V1.2

Tunes used:

Phearable Stage 1 / 6,652 miles / 4 months, 20 days

Phearable Stage 1.5R / 34,444 miles / 2 years, 4 months, 28 days

Phearable Tune Revision Service / ~3,700 miles / 1 month, 16 days

Fuel used: Always 93 Octane
Exxon (12 tanks)
Meijer (45 tanks)
Shell (74 tanks)

I've recorded every fill up since purchasing the car new; if anyone is interested in that data. Over the course of owning the vehicle I have averaged 37.2 MPG. The MPG listed in the gauge cluster is pretty accurate. Compared to my 2019 Si, that was 100% stock during my ownership, the car tends to report slightly higher than actual fuel efficiency when tuned/modified.

Problems/issues: None.

Driving style: Fairly conservative most of the time. I used to commute 40-100 miles/day for work, so I made good use of the adaptive cruise control. The car still got at least one good daily flogging and roll raced a ton of cars on the highway during my commute. 🙃

Tune experience notes:
Never a hint of trouble with the car. No check engine lights. No sputtering, stalling, funny noises, poor fuel economy...all three variants I've had have been flawless.

I ran the 1.5R the longest starting with only the PRL Race CAI. I Added 27Won's FMIC kit & TIP Pipe not long after. Drove the car with this tune for a total of 34,444 miles and with those 3 mods together for 26,920 of those miles. The tune and car responded well to the addition of the FMIC kit and TIP Pipe as advertised by Phearable.

Quite recently, this past August, I went from just intake upgrades to FBO by adding all of the exhaust components at once. At this time I swapped from the PRL Cobra to 27Won's CAI. Nothing wrong with the Cobra, I just wanted the 27Won for easy accessibility of the air filter. My wife and I just moved from Chicago to Amsterdam (Netherlands) where I will no longer have access to a private garage and all my tools, so ease of service with the 27Won was preferred.

The combination of the revised tune and opening up the exhaust was enough to make the stock clutch inadequate. Even just trying to accelerate from cruising ~70 in 6th gear would cause a fair amount of slippage. RV6 CTR Retrofit Flywheel & Exedy Stage 0 clutch to the rescue.

The car drives amazingly now being FBO with the revised tuned and CTR clutch/flywheel.

I paid for the datalog review service from Phearable, but haven't done that yet. I'm waiting for the car to complete its voyage across the ocean so I can put some European fuel in it. I'm sure it will be fine with a high enough RON rating of gas, but better safe than sorry.

Thanks for adding your car and all the detail. Great way to help our community. I wish I got 37.2 mpg. My driving style, hilly terrain and congested roads gets me to something like a 32-33 mpg average.

UPDATE: 07/15/2023: Still going!

Vehicle
: 2017 Civic Sedan Touring - CVT

Total tuned time: About 3 years?

Total tuned mileage: Lost count, but over 100k, total mileage is 166k miles

Tuning device(s) used: KTuner V1.2

Tunes used: TSP Stage 1, Phearable 1.5, Custom tune by DRob. Currently using a custom FlexFuel tune by Phearable

Fuel used: Shell, Costco, Chevron, 76 (91 only), E85 for a blend between E25-28

Additional engine mods: PRL Cobra CAI w/RACE MAF, PRL Intercooler (Stock charge pipes), PRL Catted Downpipe, CVT Cooler, 27WON TIP, VTT GC Turbo, ARP Head Studs (TSP), PRL FlexFuel Kit

Problems/issues: Nothing yet

Driving style: 75% highway and fairly fast and aggressive at times

Since the last update, I haven’t added or changed anything to the vehicle and it’s been running fine. I just change oil a little more frequently.
Update: 11/18/23

My current mileage is 176,400.

I noticed I blew my head a week ago. I think it has to do with the way I installed the ARP headstuds. I did it without removing the head. It was a slow leak on three cylinders. No overheating, didn’t get into the oil, and only had misfires between 2-3k RPM’s until the car got hot and then it went away.

Went and got the head resurfaced, new gaskets, etc. I got the car back today and it seems to be smoother than before and swapped the headstuds for VCD’s headstuds. Didn’t want to risk reusing the ARP ones in case they stretched. Pistons, walls, cams, all looked good just normal wear and tear because of the mileage. Nothing of concern. It’s back up and running

Vehicle: 2019Civic Type R

Total tuned time: 2 yrs

Tuned miles driven: 20k miles on stock motor / 2k miles on fully built motor

Tuning device(s) used:
Hondata

Tunes used: Hondata OTS , then Redstar custom tunes

Fuel used: Shell 93 Vpower only or Sunoco 100 octane , VP Ms109

Additional related mods: Too many to list , but FBO on fully built motor (short block by 4pistons, race ported head by JSRengines w/ Ferrea competition package , running Mhi turbo

Problems/issues:
Stock Motor we pushed limit and exposed oem Valve Springs could not handle higher rpm, valve floated at 7800rpm … keep it to 7200rpm and should be fine…

Stock Motor handles great power as long as you keep rpms down and torque numbers low

Driving style: Summer
Car only, take it on long road trips so has to be very reliable.. also try to hit the track at least once a month and hit some autocross events as well.

Tune experience notes:
Overall the Type R feels like a completely different animal from stock… but with stock motor around low 400whp it felt super fun for a daily driver… It now is a great powerful fun mini rocket.. not the fastest but definitely an all around fun car to drive and surprise some folks with more power and tq.
Update to vehicle;

car is at about 42k miles now!

motor has been refreshed twice with new Rod bearings, new cam cap bearings and new oil pump from 4pistons. Old pump seized and spun a rod bearing (oil starvation on number 4 rod)

Added TR2 Cams ( personal opinion not worth it, stock cams handle great power until around 600whp)
Upgraded to PRL P700 turbo ( horrible turbo)

Unfortunately turbo never ran right and car was unable to finish tuning. Tbf car had some issues initially and turbo just never fit the setup.

Waiting for new turbo setup RV6 660

Once tuned and dialed in will try and get it on dyno for some final numbers.

Otherwise chassis wise, the car has been great with no issues. PPG transmission has been bulletproof with the twin disc clutch. Roughly 10k miles on it now.

Tunes used: TSP stage 1+, TSP stage 2, custom tune from DRob

Fuel used: Shell 93, Meijer e85

Additional related mods:
PRL Cobra cold air intake
PRL Intercooler w/ charge pipes
PRL Catted downpipe
PRL Wifi flex fuel kit
AWE touring exhaust (includes front pipe)
RV6 retrofit flywheel w/ Exedy FK8 stage 0 clutch

Problems/issues: Erased 4th gear from existence. Otherwise just some personal mistakes. Greased the silicone charge pipes to get them on and had those pop off. Missed that freaking 1.4mm spacer for the VSS when replacing the clutch. Don't miss that!

Driving style: Banging those gears a lot of the time. Can't seem to help myself lol.

Tune experience notes: TSP stage 1+ was a very surprising boost in performance when I first got it. Paired that with the cai at first. Got the itch for more so over the following 5-6 I added a couple parts at a time, finished with a custom tune from DRob. He told me not to no lift shift into 4th, then I fucked around and found out. Currently waiting on the dealership to make something happen, still under hondacare extended warranty. Probably will get that refunded if this doesn't go through. I work at a Chevy dealership and we have a kind of sister honda dealership so we're trying to pull some strings and make it happen. At least they have had me in a 23 sport touring for a month now, for free. Can't complain about the wait. Found out that RV6 just released 3rd and 4th gear set. So if I have to rebuild I'll go for that and the upgraded syncros

Your honestly and willingness to admit your mistakes, especially in this candor, is refreshing and gave me a good chuckle.

Hoping Honda takes care of you...I saw some DUMB S$%& get warrantied when I worked at an Acura dealer from 05-15.

It's interesting. I've had people say to me (essentially), "the rod blew a hole in my block while I was driving thru Burger King". When pressed on it afterwards they admitted they abused the shit out of their car for years.

So yes, I appreciate honesty. And so does the community.

Haha, I've been a technician for a little less than 2 years now. My experience so far has taught me that if you're up front and admit your mistakes, people will be more than willing to help you or steer you in the right direction.

Supposedly they're sending an inspector out, and they're already aware of the modifications. When I go out for lunch I go check and see if my car is moved lol. I'm trying not to be pushy. I was only supposed to have the rental for 5 days and they haven't called me to bring it back yet 😅

I will say that it didn't give out until I was leaving home. Short shifted into 4th at around 30 and that did it in.

Updates:
1. Added a set of hardrace rear camber kits to improve the handling experience;
2. Current mileage: 134,000km
3. Using Revision Phearable 1.5R since April 2023. No technical issue was encountered, and I am very satisfied with the power and smoothness. It is another excellent tune.

I experienced this exact situation when I was working at that Acura dealer. This is going back 15+ years ago.

A young polish kid bought an Electon Blue EM1 Si off our lot in bone-stock condition. It showed up a few weeks later on a tow truck with the usual smattering of 'ricer' modifications from that era:

Cut springs, rims/tires, 'race' style 'fart can' exhaust, intake, HID headlights, shitty wing, HUGE Honda windshield banner, etc.

Customer stated they were, "backing out the driveway and heard a loud 'clunk' noise, and then the vehicle would not start".

The technician plugged his scanner into the OBD port to see what kind of information had been logged.

DTC for over-rev condition. Last logged RPM in excess of 12,000 RPMs 🚀 before the engine grenaded 💣 .

It was at this point he dropped the oil pan to find engine internals that looked like they had been put in a food processor.

Nothing like a classic 5-to-2 mis-shift to ruin your day

I will say that it didn't give out until I was leaving home. Short shifted into 4th at around 30 and that did it in.
My buddy did this to his boosted Integra a number of years back. When the trans was disassembled to rebuild, the tech who did the work referred to this as 'shucking the gears and synchros'. Shucking as in like 🌽 :

Probably about time I add mine, was waiting for a bit more mileage before I added it.

Vehicle: 2017 Civic Si coupe

Total tuned time: a little over 1 year (as of 11/21/23)

Tuned miles driven: about 12,000

Tuning device(s) used: ktuner v2

Tunes used: TSP 1+; currently using Phearable's 1.5R

Fuel used: 93(mostly from speedway) some e85 added (mostly in winter)

Additional related mods: PRL SRI intake, (I’m pretty sure the clutch is stock, but the previous owner may have changed it and not told me, it hasn’t slipped yet and I drive it hard)

Problems/issues: high k.control/fuel trims(not a big issue mostly based off fuel quality I believe)

Driving style: pretty aggressive, man I love the fuel cut off on this car

Tune experience notes: TSP and phearable have both been very nice, I prefer the phearable 1.5r as it just feels a bit smoother and doesn’t seem to loose power at the top end, although the TSP 1+ does pull nice if you like giving it boost below 3k rpm (I prefer to give it boost higher in the rpm range)
