My EX-T made a lot more torque than the R. It dyno'd at 345wtq and 265hp in Colorado.

The R is much more suited for what I like though, the twisties and just pure driving experience. The cars are totally different even though they share the same chassis.

Was that a flex fuel tune on the EX-T?

Originally, no, it was tuned for e85 only. Just used fuel trims to account for variability in ethenol content (this tune made ~320wtq and 250hp). I switched to flex fuel and the car made previously stated numbers. Tuned by Brent @PFI

Vehicle: 2018 Sport Touring CVT

Total tuned time: 2 Years

Total tuned mileage: 15,000+ miles

Tuning device(s) used: KTuner V2

Tunes used: KTuner Starter Dual 21

Fuel used: 93

Additional engine mods: 27Won Turbo Inlet Pipe, 27Won Air Intake, GReddy Supreme Catback Exhaust, RV6 Front & Down Pipe, Mishimoto Intercooler, Mishimoto Oil Catch Can, PRL Charge Pipe Hose Upgrade Kit, Sirimoto Oil Cooler

Problems/issues: A/C Condenser replaced under Warranty

Driving style: Normal Driving

Tuning Experience Notes: This was was my first time tuning. It immediately turned the car into something else. It was way more responsive and noticeably faster. In the entire time I’ve had it tuned, I only had to go back to stock once and that was before taking it in to the Dealer for the A/C Condenser replacement a few weeks ago. I am looking forward to getting a custom Tune from DRob in the near future.

Total tuned time: 8months

Total tuned mileage: 5000miles

Tuning device(s) used:
Hondata

Tunes used: Hondata basemap 1month, then custom dyno tune for 4month, retuned for methanol kit for 2months

Fuel used: Shell 91 (methanol changed it to hi octane over 100)

Additional engine mods:
HKS FMIC with HKS pipe
PRL High Volumn Intake with PRL Titanium inlet pipe
aFe Catted DP & aFe FP, ceramic heat coated & DEI titanium wrapped
DEI Turbo blanket
ARK DT-S catback exhaust
HKS oil cooler
Spoon Rad
Snow Performance Methanol injector kit

Problems/issues: none so far (Finger crossed)

Driving style: Granny daily with aggressive bursts from time to time.

Tuning experience notes: Stock ctr is not as impressive as what people claim.. It has long power band but the pull is relatively gentle for me. it shines on cornering and handling though.
Hondata OTS tune with FBO is alright, wake up the car, but still not pulling hard. Whatever gain from OTS, I quickly got used to it. I brought the car to a reputable local tuner. I got another 20whp from custom tune, car wakes up more, gas mileage got better but I again quickly get used to the power level. Tuner told me to go for methanol injection as he can be sure with gas and tune the car safely but more aggressively. So I went out to buy the meth kit and installed. He retuned it, car got over 400 whp, a big 55whp jump and 20wtq jump, it is a total day night different with meth kit and it finally pulling the way that bring me a smile. What amazing is.. my tq curve is literally flat from 3.5 to redline .

I did dyno it on every stage so I know exactly what I got from each mod that I did to the car, so if anyone want to know how much power you will get from your parts or mod, PM me.

Always great to see another Type R owner posting a survey. Thank you.

400 whp and a flat tq curve 3500 to redline, wow. Any idea on your 1/4 mile time?

1,500K ~miles.
04/01/2020
400K ~miles.

*Was at 400 miles when I first posted the miles tuned. *

Tuning Device Used:
K-Tuner V2.

*Driving style* I make at least 2-5 WOT each time in the car. On Fridays/Saturdays, I do 10+pulls depending if I am cruising with everyone.

*Experience gained*
*09/27/2020* I've been more careful when WOT to avoid redlining the car in every gear and my knock control going out of whack is nearly non-existent now.

Tunes & Settings Used:
*Update 08/15/2020* [PRIMARY & Current TSP Stage 1 street][Disabled rev-hang][Added settings; ADVANCED VSA CHECKED-ADVANCED VSA SET TO; AGGRESSIVE IGNITION PULLBACK/LIGHT FUEL PULLBACK]

*Update* 07/17/2020 (Tried Phearable stage 1 out again and same results with the 27Won CAI)

*Update* 06/22/2020 ("For 10-20 MILES" I tried Phearable stage 1 out, and had lots of issues. I have determined that the TYPHOON K&N SHORT RAM is the issue, its constantly causing K.control issues due to heat.

*Update 05/14/2020* [PRIMARY & Current TSP Stage 1 street]
[Previous Tune Starter ~ Base/23.5] (Throttle Response 1. 2-STEP SETUP @ 3950k-4000k-No Rev hang)

Fuel Used:
EXXON-93/SHELL-93 ONLY
I will be experimenting with VELARO Soon.

Additional Engine Mods:
*MODIFIED* 09/27/2020*UNPLUGGED the artificial engine noise module
*ADDED* 07/17/2020 {27WON COLD AIR INTAKE} *INSTALL DATE - 07/17/2020 (Would buy again, 10/10 on performance, noise, temps, everything! The fact that in the winter, I can remove the plexi shield to add more turbo noise is sweet!
*ADDED* 07/17/2020 *Perrin Rear mount inserts* *Removed* 08/10/2020
*MODIFIED* 06/26/2020 {Modified the Invidia Gemini Cat Back exhaust} Gutted the Resonator/removed baffle & Fiberglass insulator.... they left the insulation wrapped in a plastic bag ... which is why it sounded muffle, and smelt like a hot glue lol...

*ADDED* 06/22/2020 Invidia Gemini Cat Back - Ti Burnt Tips(zero miles driven with the exhaust. That will change tonight lol.)
*ADDED*06/01/2020 K&N Typhoon short ram heat shielded(Hot air intake??)(awesome for noise though!)*Removed* 07/17/2020
Problems/Issues:

*Update* 08/10/2020 Removed the Perrin rear mount inserts due to excessive vibration, and metal knocking noises(I think it was my 3 inch exhaust hitting the body of the car... I DO NOT recommend this mount insert in the summer time where you need your ac running. If you don't care about sounding like your car is about to fall apart, have at it. Not for me!

*Update* 07/17/2020 Phearable stage 1 street still acts up with the 27Won intake....
*Update* 06/22/2020 Phearable Stage 1 street - Issues are due to my (K&N TYPHOON SHORT RAM)
Insane K.CONTROL. I have the 27WON cold air coming in July, this should resolve this issue.
*OLD ISSUES:*
*Update* 05/28/2020 (Same rare issue)Jerky throttle is more related to a limp throttle. Associated with large some knock counts maybe misfire?
*Update 05/14/2020* TSP stage 1 - Rare issue, but it seems to give me some jerky throttle response every so often. Also, i'm running super rich. After 2-3 70mph pulls, my exhaust smells like fireworks. Elevation is at 544. I've noticed that I get a lot more knock counts(like some times in 10 minutes 30+),and an occasional rise in knock control. Usually to 0.52-0.54.
I will start looking for better fuel in town.

Lol the other day, I created a thread about the PRL Flex Fuel Kit... Someone used the abbreviation "FFK," and I thought to myself, "huh what does that mean?" After a Google search, a Fuel Feed line Kit from MAPerformance came up. I then looked at it and thought, "ooh I hadn't considered that." I then proceeded to make myself look like an idiot lolz ? It was a good reminder to always stay humble lol

Vehicle: 2019 Civic Type R

Total tuned time: 8 months

Total tuned mileage: 3800 miles

Tuning device(s) used: originally KTuner on Now Hondata Flashpro with Hondata Fuel Upgrade System.

Tunes used: KTuner - canned tune and CAI from dealer 8 miles, then Hondata at 2800 miles.

Fuel used: E85 (71-83 content depending on station and mix)

Additional engine mods: PRL full bolt on with Borla Catback. PRL flex fuel kit, PRL Intercooler and charge pipes. Mishimoto overflow tank and oil catch can.

Problems/issues: None

Driving style: Almost always driving in +R. Cruising with slight speed with aggressive bursts, Very hard rolls to 150-160s. Don’t dump clutch rev up 1st them hammer in second. Running stock clutch over chattery Clutch Masters 400. Stock Clutch runs fine never had a grind or a lockout. If you want to upgrade the clutch you will need a built engine and a twin disc. No reason to swap type R clutch unless you abuse it until your motor is fully built.

Tuning experience notes: Custom Dyno dual tune 93 Octane or any mix I run straight E85 on 25PSI. Advanced timing and high torque. Prepare to be at the pump a lot running straight E85 it burns 30% faster I have yet to check MPG. E85 is only like $1.80 a gallon compared to $2.90-$3.00 here so really spending less on fuel just fuel a lot more frequently. It's still very convenient that if I am traveling away and a station without E85 I can still use pump 93 and continue on with less power. It's an expensive but convenient method for a lot of power with convenience of fuel options vs mixing etc.

More plans after the PRL P600 is announced in detail.
Thanks for clearing this up for me, as I was reading conflicting information from various threads. I plan on running flex fuel and pumping straight E85. I understand that there will be no gains above the E25 or E30 tune, but I would prefer to not have to pump multiple times, mix, etc.

I think about like pumping 93 on my 91 tune. I will only get the gains up to 91 octane. Such as e30 tune with e85, I will only see gains up to the e30 mark.

Is that right, or am I missing something?
