Vehicle: 2016 Civic EX-T sedan (Sold and replaced w/ 2019 Si Coupe :D)

Tuning device(s) used: Hondata CARB

With my new Si, I am going to use a KTuner V2, and use the TSP stage 1
I'll tell you this from firsthand experience, moving from a CARB Flashpro to a V2 is a huge leap. You may even want to consider doing your own Starter tune setup to get a feel for all the driveability tweaks available before you move to a locked tune like the TSP 1. Don't get me wrong, the TSP tune is awesome. But, for someone new to KTuner, setting up your own Starter tune would be a great place to learn about Ktuner's abilities.

Vehicle: 2016 Civic Sedan Ex-T CVT

Total tuned time: Nearly 3 years

Total tuned mileage: 62k miles

Tuning device(s) used: Hondata Flashpro

Tunes used: 93 octane +6psi tune

Fuel used: Exclusively 93 until about 40k, then mixed 87/91/93 somewhat randomly

Additional engine mods: None. Totally stock, aside from the tune.

Problems/issues: None, changed cvt fluid once so far and plenty of oil changes. Second set of tires.

Driving style: Aggressive city driving, ~100+ miles a day most days. Don't drive like an idiot, but I don't baby it. Still manage to get 28 mpg though.

Tuning experience notes: None aside from the fact that I cannot recommend it enough. Car feels MUCH faster than it really has any right to with a 1.5L CVT.

62K tuned with CVT. That is awesome to see.

Btw, you're so right about saying how fast it feels considering it's a tiny 1.5L with a CVT. At times, it feels more like a small 6 cylinder.

Thanks for the tip!! I really appreciate experience-informed advice! I will start with the starter tune first and move up to TSP later :)

Yeah, no problem. Going from the bare bones Flashpro CARB to the Ktuner V2 is like going from a Honda Fit to a Ferrari. :)

Besides all the bells and whistles of the V2, what will shock you is how the unit itself is built like a tank.

You don't say but is your Sport a CVT? It's fairly normal to get some whine after some hard driving from time to time. If it's a manual, could you post an audio clip?

Some interesting survey numbers:

Manuals outnumber CVT'S by 2 to 1
KTuner is used 3 times as often as Hondata
93 octane is used in about half of the cars
Only about 20% of the cars run a custom tune
Over a third of cars are running a TSP Stage 1

Yeah sorry it is a CVT, It happens every time I climb above 5,000 rpm It almost sounds like air, at least that’s what a couple of my friends said

Vehicle: 2019 Civic coupe lx cvt

Total tuned time: 2 months

Total tuned mileage: 1,000 miles

Tuning device(s) used: Ktuner v1.2

Tunes used: custom e-tune by dan @ e-tunez

Fuel used: Shell 93 only

Additional engine mods: AEM intake, rv6 high flow cat, Magna flow street series Catback

Problems/issues: Evap monitor is on and my gas mileage is 16.3

Driving style: Foot to the floor most of the time and I hit redline every time I drive the car.

Tuning experience notes: Never tuned a car before and never will. Leaving that to the professionals. Communication with dan from e-tunez was excellent and very happy with the outcome

Vehicle: 2017 Civic Si Sedan

Total tuned time: 27 months

Total tuned mileage: 40,000+ miles

Tuning device(s) used: Hondata, K&N cold air intake

Tunes used: Hondata +9 psi with recommended calibrations for Si with intake

Fuel used: 93 octane, Shell or BP
Additional engine mods: none

Problems/issues: None

Driving style: easy, lots of highway miles, occasional exuberance in sport mode at 9 psi, two times on road course track in sport mode at 9 psi

Tuning experience notes: the Hondata tune has been great, right from the box. I'm estimating 200+ whp (probably 250+ at the crank). I've experienced absolutely no problems. Pushing 50,000 miles with the original clutch and tires (a testament to highway miles) despite two trips to local tracks. Best of all, this little rocket still delivers 40+ highway mpg on summer fuel.

Vehicle: 2016 Civic EX-T CVT sedan

Total tuned time: 12 months

Total tuned mileage: 12,000+ miles

Tuning device(s) used:, KTuner V1.2

Tunes used: K-Tuner Dual Stage 21, previously self made Dual Stage 21 bumped to 24 psi

Fuel used: 87 octane

Additional engine mods: none

Problems/issues: Blew up Fuel Rails and injectors when running the 24 PSI Custom tune. $1040 to fix. No issues ever on standard 21 psi dual K-Tuner tune

Driving style: Slightly speedy with aggressive bursts from time to time.

Tuning experience notes: The main reason I tuned was to reduce the feeling of turbo and CVT lag when quickly going from light to heavy throttle. Tuning's definitely reduced the lag by maybe 90% and gives me a completely different driving experience. My car went from a peppy commuter to a bit of a sleeper beast. My mpgs are only slightly lower since tuning.
