UPDATE:
Previous data will be in ()

Vehicle: 2017 Civic SI

Total tuned time: 19 months (previously 15)

Total tuned mileage: ~20,000miles
(was ~13,000 In previous post)

Tuning device(s) used: Nothing new to report
(Hondata flashpro, currently using KTuner v1.2)

Tunes used: Currently on a custom from
D-Rob using ktuner. (Custom tune on Hondata, Hondata +9psi, KTuner dual 19.5 and 23 psi map)

Fuel used: Nothing new to report
(Sunoco 93, Exxon 93, Shell 93, 93 at PX shop exchange gas station)

Additional engine mods: Prl big turbo gtx2060R
(Prl Cobra CAI, was previously on K&N performance intake system, Prl intercooler and charge pipes, catless downpipe, frontpipe, takeda 3-2 1/2in exhaust, fx400 with single mass lightweight flywheel)

Problems/issues: Had a over boost issue on the first day after I put the turbo kit on. Has since been corrected and has not cropped up again.
(On hondata +9 psi, engine went into limp mode about 3 times within 2 week period. Seemed to happen when I suddenly let off the throttle after WOT between 4k-5k rpms. Turning the engine off and then back on fixed the issue. Havent had this issue crop up again since then.)

Driving style: My day to day driving style is relaxed and sometimes slightly speedy. Highway driving is spirited, including a few WOT here and there.
(occasionally relaxed, mainly spirited, very aggressive on curvy roads, a few pulls here and there a day.)

Tuning experience notes: Other than the issues already listed, the car has been running pretty good. I do all maintenance and mod installs myself since I don't feel comfortable letting others work on my car. I feel like this let's me stay on top of any issues that may arise.

I got the car at 10,800 miles. I do not know exactly how long but the car was already custom tuned from the previous owner. I also do not know how well he cared for it but seeing as how he had a blow-off valve(which we know is bad for this car) installed and the custom tune had peak torque hitting at 2500rpm(also bad having peak torque so low In the rpms) He may not have known how to care for it best.

I'm now at 30k miles, ~2,500 of those are with the turbo kit, and the car is still running strong.

Total tuned time: 8 months

Total tuned mileage: 11,000

Tuning device(s) used: Ktuner v1.2

Tunes used
:
- tsp stage 2 (Map 1 sport mode) current
- tsp stage 1 (Map 3 sport mode)

Fuel used: E35 (93 + e85)

Additional engine mods: PRL flex fuel kit, PRL cobra intake w/ Race MAF, PRL catted DP/FP

Problems/issues:

Driving style: spirited

Tuning experience notes: Everything smooth so far. Was running tsp stage 1 for about 6 months and it was great but just recently installed a flex fuel kit and switched over to tsp stage 2. I keep it map 1 sport mode 100% of the time because I cannot afford a built motor anytime soon.
I also have a PRL intercooler with the charge pipes and a clutch masters fx350 clutch and smf sitting in the garage. Hope to have them both on the car by the end of the month.
After all that is installed I will be getting a dyno tune aswell.

Update: Each week I'll highlight one member's survey post. Hopefully it will be an incentive to get more members adding their tuning survey. Surveys with photos and detailed info have a better chance of getting featured.

Total tuned mileage: 5,000 miles

Tuning device(s) used: Ktuner

Tunes used: Base Map

Fuel used: 91 (Mostly Costoco, Fastrip, and Arco)

Additional engine mods: RV6 Catless Downpipe

Problems/issues: None

Driving style: Lots of highway miles and spirited city driving

Tuning experience notes: I disabled my CEL through Ktuner and I haven't gotten a CEL since I installed my downpipe. This is my first car that I have ever tuned and I have to say it's been awesome! One slight problem I have seen is sometimes my car kind of lurches at 2.8K-3k rpm in either 2nd or 3rd gear when I drive slow. I assume that this is a tuning issue since it popped up when I installed my downpipe. An etune or a proper custom tune could solve this.

Total tuned time: 11 months

Total tuned mileage: 12,000+ miles

Tuning device(s) used: KTuner V2

Tunes used: KTuner 21psi base map/ Customized TSP Stage 1 for non-Si (current)

Fuel used: Shell 93 Ultra (exclusively)

Additional engine mods: RV6 catless downpipe paired with the GReddy SP Exhaust / PRL cobra intake / FX400 ceramic clutch

Problems/issues: None

Driving style: Slightly speedy with aggressive bursts (very occasional trips to Mexico with the boys)

Tuning experience notes: This is the first car I’ve ever tuned and modified and I’ve loved every minute of it. Had to clear my CEL for o2 sensors with the Ktuner but have had no other problems come up. The car is currently on the TSP Stage 1 tune with 220hp 260wtq and I plan on going flex fuel in the next couple months as well as picking up a beefier intercooler. But even without that the car feels 110% better, much sportier and more aggressive. The car went from a quiet commuter to a little sleeper. Only downside is, the mods joined with my driving style have made the MPG go down just slightly but still an incredibly fun car to own.

An exhaust is mostly just sound.

On the other hand, a tuning device changes the car's driveability completely. Big power gains, less lag, no rev hang, better throttle response, better traction control... on and on. With your bolt-on's though, I'd recommend a custom tune.

Ultimately it comes down to whether you want more show or more go.

That’s for the advice man. If I end up goin with ktuner with my mods at the moment can I run on one of their base map tunes that it comes with it? I’m new to all of this . Just want to play it safe .

You could but you would want to monitor things like your fuel trims for sure.
