** ACHTUNG!! **

As a Public Service Announcement(tm), I'd just like to periodically remind people that during that time, Honda had in their lineup --

Integra Type R
Integra GSR
Civic EM1
Civic Type R (JDM)
Acura NSX
Del Sol
Prelude
Accord Coupe V6 Manual

All at the same time. Let that shizz sink into your head for a moment.

Now all people want is Uber and that's why we don't get nice things.

Although this was talked about in another thread this Tesla Cybertruck is yet another boxy design it may look different than the normal boxy vehicle out there but it’s still a box come on Tesla you could do better than that

Here’s another example of shapeless design some may like being a retro look but the new ford bronco is yet another box type SUV I know it’s supposed to look like a
1966 bronco but its 2020 and yes they also a a four door version Back in 1988 at least they had a future look four wheel drive vehicle the splash concept ( bottom pic)
this Is my opinion and I’m tired of the retro look

Sorry, I don't get the Bronco thing. My wife has had a Wrangler for 8 years now and we've never had the doors off, never flipped the windshield down. We do have a big tilt back rack on it so we can carry our kayaks, as well as 4x8 sheets of stuff.

As for "The shape of things" -- the title of this old thread got my interest and see this 70's commercial which isn't the best I remember -- but the car driving into the moving trailer was the thing.

Back in the 70's the shape of things to come....

I remember that commercial in the late seventies or early eighties unfortunately the TR7 and TR8 was triumph last attempt for US import fortunately for triumph and rover the Honda corporation helped out these two failing companies in the eighties which kept them afloat in the GB

Style-wise I always liked that TR-7 wedge. Likely influenced by a Datsun 2xx and a Saab Sonnet (sp?) that I had seen on my streets as a kid.

I agree Subaru gave that design a try with the XT back in the eighties that was another forgotten cool little car
