So: what synthetics are available in the 10th gen's 0W20? When they went to 5W20 it was a while before synthetics were readily available at that rating. Here we go again with the 0W20?

First one that comes to mind... Mobile 1. Probably not the best these days. But it DOES meet Honda's HTO-06 standard for higher output turbo motors.

i saw that they offered two Mobil 1 variants in 0W20. Wonder how widely available they are? In a parts store near you?

Our local Walmart has it cheap. For moderate output turbo motors, I believe most would recommend the Extended Performance variant. Compared to the Advanced Fuel variant, EP should have higher viscosity/consistency and sheer protection under extreme temperatures.

That said, Advanced Fuel variant has gotten pretty good results (see #14):

I'm sure others will have opinions on what works well. I know in high output applications, such as WRX, Evo or STi; Rotella T6 is a very popular oil. Very high detergent content combined with very solid UOAs. But that will be a conversation for when the 2.0T becomes available.

First time Honda owner here. Does anyone make an oil filter for the 2016 Civic yet besides buying one from the dealer? I can't find the 2016 Civic listed on anyone's site... Advance Auto, O'Reilly, Mobil1, Wix, etc..

The 2.0L and 1.5L-Turbo both use a filter that Honda has used for years. The OEM part number is (15400-PLM-A02) you can get that cross referenced online or at an auto parts store. The FRAM P/N is: **7317 and the WIX P/N is: 57356.

Thanks. I think I am going with Fram Ultra XG7317 and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum when the time comes.

What is the Mobil1 extended performance equivalent for these filters? (is it the M1-110?)

+1 - If I can find some Ultra Platinum in 0W20- if not I'll use the Platinum.

I'll be using Quaker State's Ultimate Durability 0W-20 synthetic oil, which is often on special at Canadian Tire... Its proprietary molybdenum formula really shows up in the oil analysis, with over 3 times as much moly compared to other synthetic 0W-20 oils.

Honda oil filter difference between:

15400-PLM-A01 (Filtech Toyo Roki) http://www.hondapartscheap.com/hond...-scat/?part_name=filter-oil-filtech-toyo-roki

15400-PLM-A02 (Honeywell) http://www.hondapartscheap.com/hond...ump-2-0l-scat/?part_name=filter-oil-honeywell

A note for those planning on using this vendor specifically for purchasing the A01 filter. They will substitute the A02 even if you confirm with them the A01 will ship. Ordered the A01. Confirmed they wouldn't substitute. Sent the A02 and a dented one at that. Made me send photos before they would consider issuing credit. Never issued the credit and that was the last I heard from them.

Any thoughts on the Honda 0W-20 blend? At my dealership, the price is right.

I don't think the community has seen test results on it, but don't see why not. If it were me, I'd probably be checking to see it was compatible with Acura's HTO-06 standard.

For those wanting to try out something else, and are willing to do a little digging, a used oil analysis (UOA) would give the community a lot of insight. I think it's still around $50 a sample.
