That's just it though..been thoroughly through AMSOIL's site (their SS 5w30 is HT0-06 but not 0w20) and all over GOOGLE and can't find a single 0w20 that meets HONDA HTO-06 specs. Seems the only HONDA/ACURA motor that required the HTO-06 was the RDX.

I know that our current civic motor doesn't require the HT0-06 but I was more curious than anything why there aren't 0w20's with this rating available.

There must be a reason for this..Jaydan1020 I will go to your site! Thanks!
I really think that you’re over thinking this, as long as you use 0W-20 and change the oil when the MM says to then your warranty will be fine.

This is on Amsoil’s website.

48K miles on my 1.5 now. I forgot to get a sample of the 4th oil change, but here are the UOA's with TBN for my 2nd, 3rd, and 5th oil changes.

The maintenance minder has be going about 9500 miles between oil changes on mixed driving, and that seems to be fine. I change the oil within a few hundred miles of the oil life going below 0% and starting to count negative miles.

I need to start keeping an eye on my oil level, though. Hoping they'll make the update for the fuel dilution issue available in all states.

I wish people shared the increase of oil level on the dipstick during the OCI.
The level on the dipstick is a more accurate measure of oil dilution than any lab can provide, at least as long as the engine doesn't burn significant amounts of oil. And it can be compared with the % numbers given by the labs.

I wonder if anyone here tried the Liquid Moly Ceratec on the turbocharged Civic?
Used in my first oil change at 3k miles. I run 5w-30 Liqui Molygen. I track the car and the oil lasts about 5 track days.

Supertech synthetic 5w30 ($15.98) and a Premium Guard PG4615 filter ($1.80).

Takes me about $18 to change my oil with synthetic and have leftover oil.. I’ll be changing it every 5000 miles to keep fuel contamination down.

Just in case anyone is interested, Mobil 1 is having it's rebate promotion now. 5qt jug + mobil 1 filter gets you $17 rebate, currently $22 something+ $10 filter at walmart, making it $15 for a oil change. You can buy up to 4 jugs + filters. Go to slickdeals.net under auto section to follow updates.

I will be using Amsoil SS 5W-30 with the WIX Filters - 57356XP, combo I cant remember the thread but here in houston it gets Hot, and I have full bolt ons so coupled with heat soak, 5w-30 seemed like the better option.

Completely agree. Planning to go to a 5w-30 or 0w-30, probably Penzoil. It tests well and is a thinner 30 weight. Would have done it by now but have to take it for the recall and have let them to their thing first.
Have you noticed any reduction in fuel economy with the higher weight oil?

Have been running 5w30 Ams SS for the past 4 OCI and no change in the fuel economy

I had forgotten to link this testing result from @MAPerformance they did a while back on the 1.5T's PCV system. In short, it appears that the entire system does a very good job limiting recirculation of oil from the crankcase while maintaining fairly even CC pressure both at cruising and under load. On a healthy motor, it seems that catch cans are largely unnecessary. And when added, may actually reduce the PCV's effectiveness due to changes in atmospheric conditions.

A good read:

This is very encouraging and would do it in a heartbeat if not for the recall. I'm hesitating to go for the recall after hearing about AC problem. My AC is working very good as of now...

I didn’t hear much of a positive feedback from people that had recall done on their cars. At this point, i could care less about the recall and will continue driving as is. Plus, there’s really no recalls for those civica that reside in texas
