Another track day in the books! This time at Blackhawk farms raceway. Really fun course, pretty technical, and less emphasis on needing power imo.

Heat wasn't too bad about 85 degrees but the car definitely got hot through the session. Despite the heat, managed a 1:23.9 which I'm happy with

The owner of RV6 was also there, small world

At the end of the 3rd session my rear driver side caliper started smoking pretty bad, the red paint actually turned black on part of it. A seized caliper maybe? Ill have to check.

And then I saw this.

Was a fairly hot and humid day, hoping that it's just moisture, but will have to check my coolant tank to see and probably get a test done to make sure HG is good. Otherwise I'm in the same boat as @REDRAGN šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

Update: Car drove 3 hours back just fine, caliper seemed fine I feel like if it was stuck id feel a ton of heat radiating off of it but there wasnt much. Will pull it apart anyways to inspect. Coolant was still in the reservoir too.. hoping just moisture. Will still get it tested.

Looked like a great day! Hopefully your engine is ok...these are sometimes hard to diagnose for a head gasket...some really good conversations over in the regular 10th gen forums on it.

And heres mine...made it bleed :(

If running the stock brembos, you might check the metal retaining clip. Make sure you pad wear is even from side to side, to see if one side is dragging more than the other.

By metal retaining clip do you mean the springs on the inner brake pads?

I will let you know after this season how the PWR is, I have run the Koyo and Mishi rads so far, the Koyo was meh, the Mishi was better & since having switched to the PWR intercooler and seeing how successful that change was I figured I should give the rad a chance too.
Did you switch to PWR? IF so, how has the season been going so far?

I always notice my rear pads wear unevenly. Found this kit from Wunderladen and just installed it. Need some time to see if it makes my pad wear better but I feel it should.

another bookmark. ill have to give this a look. Just from glancing, it doesnt look like the sides are uneven but Ill really need to dig into it to be sure. Id like new rear rotors anyways so that will be a winter project to get everything swapped out.

Every time I have done my rear pads they are always cheese wedge shaped. I'm not sure if the OEM rubber lets it deflect that much or what but for $75 I figured it's worth a shot.

Def worth a shot at that price. Ill have to look a bit closer and see. With the amount of smoke coming from my rear pads the other day, I Thought the rear caliper was on fire. So ill definitely have to do something. heh.

Also looking at a secondary radiator but since the oil cooler im testing for MAP sits in the grille, I may have to go with the mishimoto version.

do not get that mishimoto secondary radiator. It is literally worthless other than just adding some extra coolant volume. A buddy got it and it sits so far down you get zero flow to it
