How is the current generation Honda Civic in terms of build quality and reliability in comparison to older Civics, or even Accords? And is the CVT a reliable transmission when it gets older?

It's probably still too early to tell. There's been a few recalls (oil dilution, AC, fuel pumps). With respect to the CVT, again, too early to tell but in general they are not the most reliable tranny's out there. Though I have faith Honda's is better than Nissan's. I think you would still classify the 10th gen Civic as a 'reliable' car.
