I recently downsized to 18's from the OEM 20's, but upgraded in the process from the stock Conti's to the new Michelin Sport Cup 2 Connects. Based on the change in Load Index, most calculators are telling me that I should be running only 28PSI in the front, but even 35PSI felt a little soft and vague. Upping to 38PSI really firmed things up, but I'm not sure that I'm comfortable running 10PSI over what's being recommended.

My question is: for those who track on 10's, what PSI's do you run? And do you alter your PSI's for the road? I love the feeling at higher pressures, but not at the cost of messing up the tires.

I am on 265/35/18 wheels with Yokohama V601 tires
For daily driving I do 32psi all around and at the track I have been doing about 26psi.

I would say anything around 32-35psi for daily driving is good.

I was driving 33psi warm (2.3bar), roughly 26psi cold (1.8bar) this year but it seems itā€˜s too little - next time I try 35-36psi warm

I see - looks like the wear is extending to the side wall at that pressure. Where would the ideal border line be for wear? Would it be the outside edges of those horizontal tread lines? Or further to the outside than that.

The new ones look like this, I believe the wear should be where there is a thin line and not go lower than that. Iā€˜ll try next time and let you know if itā€˜s better with the higher pressure

Thanks. I've found that I can mostly replicate the sharper OEM feel on turn in by bumping up the pressure to 36-37 PSI cold, but I'm gathering that that is likely too high to maximize the contact patch.
