It's not the employees that are worthless, it's their training. They're simply not trained to be product specialists. They are there to replenish stock, maintain the store and get you through the checkouts. If you want an experience with a retailer who trains their staff to be product specialists, it's going to cost you much more.Just know the employees are worthless so dont bother asking them anything
You'd think so, but that's not how they roll.Walmart being much busier, shouldn't the increased revenue allow them the headroom in the payroll budget to hire more maintenance workers?
Yes you’re completely right training in Walmart is on the fly training and they usually put someone that has no idea on how a certain department should run to train employees this is why you get that deer in headlight look when you ask a Walmart employee a question I thought it was bad in New York it’s worse in FloridaIt's not the employees that are worthless, it's their training. Working in a Walmart warehouse ( DC that’s the Walmart term)Walmart is all numbers driven, so no lol. Corporate rule of thumb says if you can run the business long enough you don't rehire the heads, regardless of how much of a shitshow it may be. As long as the top line is still strong, that is all that matters. Gotta pay them big wigs right???
Walmart also requires its suppliers to reduce cost every year in order to continue stocking the product at walmart, or at least they used to. It's a ruthless business model, and there's a reason there are walmarts in every corner of the US now.
Personally I prefer the Target experience but the price difference is too much, and I always end up buying more in target than I mean to. And the walmart near me is kind of... sub par in terms of some of the shoppers. Seen police there more than a few times in the year I've lived here. Yet they run their business in such a fashion that I find myself at this walmart a few times a week.
Unfortunately, hell to the no :/ these big companies know how to get around this shit. And with no full-time status, they are not required to do benefits. The problem is, they are so big as a company, not much can be done about it unless it would be brought to a federal level. And even then, I'm not sure the government is going to push too hard on one of the largest employers in the US ( I recall it being #1 a few years back let me do a quick google..... yup still #1 employer at 1.5 million employees) for fear of job cuts, automation, etc.Working in a Walmart warehouse ( DC that’s the Walmart term)
a employee makes quite a bit more than a store employee. But
You work on quoter how many pieces can you pick per hour you have to keep up a 95% average on a weekly basis working in the freezer ( 22 below zero) you’re making 19 bucks an hour full time
it here the thing Walmart considers full time at 32 plus I worked in the freezer I was supposed to work three twelve hour days and have four days off but if anyone worked the actual 36 hours that was rare
i would have either 27 or 30 hours per week and nobody saw 40 hours. Do you really think Walmart is going to pay hourly employees
40 hours at 19 bucks an hour
I think I've just grown accustomed to not being able to get customer service at walmart, so I don't ever expect any, nor do I need any. If the item I need is locked up, you bet your ass I'm gonna get it somewhere else. It'll take them 30 minutes to come over then realize they need to get someone else who has the right key. And some stuff that should not be locked up is... Like rubbers - I am not waiting for someone to come unlock that shit.I like both, but if I had to choose I'd probably choose target if I know that they have what I need
Walmart's selection is huge and I can knockout a whole bunch of things at once if I go to a superstore but easy to get lost and get stuck in there. Target is much cleaner I agree, much more knowledgeable employees there as well.
This is quite an interesting tidbit. You would think by now with how giant the organization is, they would be able to do some serious systematic improvement over a long period of time to get closer. If anything, triple the revenue per employee means costco makes way more profit even if they pay 2x what walmart pays! Damn man, thanks for sharing that!Too bad walmart couldn't come up with a more efficient way to operate, they could pay their employees more. Costco hauls in triple the amount of revenue/employee which is how they can pay so well in comparison to most retailers.
